• My Ultimate Mod

I have modded and hacked PS, PS2, XBOX, Computers, and even cars. I will continue on with modding all these components, to make them faster, stronger, and overall better. However, there is one thing I have always neglected, myself.

Upon buying a digital camera for the Pittsburgh games for lifetime of memories, I saw what I really look like. I didnt really look at the pictures until after "we" were defeated by the Patriots, whole other rant there. Well that following Tuesday January 25, 2005... Going through photos to send to the gang I truely saw what I look like.

I can't believe how bad I let myself go. I mean 5'10", 235 lbs and NOT all muscle. I am in just in complete shock. This really needs to change, for both my physical and mental health. I refuse to become that next steriotypical fat geek. My life I have completely changed before going to Grad School. I changed my outlook on life and all to better myself, become secure with who I am inside. I now have a positive outlook on life. I see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. I SEE MYSELF being a success. I never had this confidence before, and now that I have it I refuse to relinquish it. Now seeing the picture's of myself, I see how the years of depression, self doubt, and insecurity has done to me. I let myself be my own destruction. I now REFUSE to let myself fail now that I am so close to my dreams.

I will now go on with what I feel will be MY ULTIMATE MOD, the mod of myself into shape. This is not no New Years resolution, this is my self determination to be a complete success in life. However cliche the phrase, I will not idle stand by, I follow it. My only regret is that I didn't see this earlier. I know it is going to be a difficult path. The differnce between doing this now and not ealier in life is that I KNOW I CAN DO IT. I will change, IT IS ABOUT TIME TO CHANGE. It is something I will be proud of.

I will be keeping weekly updates, A journal I guess. I will have weekly pictures. It is all for myself. I will have a webpage, much better than geocities.

Here is me as of Sunday night.... http://www.geocities.com/jester_13th/steelers008.jpg
Hope you all well help keep me in line

                  Last January.... I was 227

I got down to 180 even by the fall.

December I went off the diet and put a bit of weight back on. I am refocused now.

I ditched almost 50 lbs w/o working out... I just changed the kind of food I ate.....

                  I based it off Atkins.

                  Good luck man!

Well Im changing diet, like no tons of beer and fast food...With being a grad student and teaching I became a fast food junkie because I usually working either on my own projects or prepair for teaching approx 100+ hours a week. Well Im cuttting that out, eating fruits for snacks. I have also decided to work out, I want to pack on muscle as well.

Thanx for the support. Now I all I need is a real reliable hosting service and Im going to make a webpage for my diary on this so to speak, as well as MODs I do and various tips for other things.

I'm glad another person is taking charge instead of *****ing about it, and trying to take the easy way out.

Now I'll give you some tips, from a first timer to another. I used to be this skinny *** kid and drastically changed my diet from little to nothing to those damn walmart microwave meals..at 14-15 I was 190-210, with my highest being 215. Last summer I got fed up with it (and I recently saw a picture of what I looked like before that, didn't even look like me) I started fairly small, doing situps and pushups whenever I got a chance, like if I was watching tv I'd do them in the middle of commercials, etc. I mainly focused on my upper body, basically out of lack of knowledge of what else to do.

Without changing my diet too terribly much (I've long since ditched those damn microwave meals) I was able to drop down to 200-something to 165-170 with just a tad of gut left (which I hear is always the hardest to lose) I can bench 140-150 (going to move up to 160 soon), I can do around 75 situps, etc. I've also got a job delivering furnature for a furnature store, which is helping me get even more buff.

Sorry for the long post, just letting you know that others have been in your shoes, and if you keep working at it, it'll happen. I wish you luck, and let all of us know if you need any more tips/motivation/etc. My best bit of advice I can give is start out slow. Don't try to lift massive ammounts of weight and burn yourself out immediately. Start small, go slow...then go from there. Don't overwork yourself. Good luck.

Thank you rune. The best advice I recieved so far. Yeah the gut I am worried at, but I figure by my next birthday I should be looking a lot better.

I got tired of *****ing about it myself. I stood back and listened to what I said, and thought, "OMG what the heck am I thinking". Well after the first week of gym, I hurt everywhere, well sore really. But there is one change I have noticed already, I am waking up a lot earlier on my own and I am not as tired. I know I wont notice any appearence changes for a while, but the not as tired part Rocks.
