www.tabcrawler.com is a great place for tabs.

    it seems like you are trying too hard, trunks. what you need to do is to get a book with all of the chords in it and start learning the natural notes(A,B,C,D,E,F,G). after that, just fill in the in-between chords like the minor and the sharps and flats.

    never give up though, if you stick with it, you will love it forever. i do.

              Have any of the people who replyed to this thread even tried playing that chord? I've been playing for about 10 months now, I can't do that chord at all. Especially with the Open 3rd string. Let along someone just starting out.

              Trunks, What kinda stuff do you listen to that requires that weird chord? lol

              I prefer MXTabs.net and Powertabs.net for my source of tab.

                  </font>
If you're talking about this tab, yeah, but check out that tuning. Wow. I've never seen that kind of tuning before. I'm not sure how much you know about tab yet, but basically the letters at the begining of the lines (in this case, C-G-C-F-A-D) let you know what notes to tune the strings to. Normal tuning is E-A-D-G-B-E. You'll want to make sure you're in the right tuning or else even if you finger everything right according to that tab, it won't sound right. The only reason I even thought to look that up is b/c I rememer back in high school when I played bass I learned a Lost Prophets song (off their first CD) and (if I remember right) it was in drop-D tuning. If you don't have a chromatic tuner or a good ear, you may want to avoid those odd tunings for now.

                  As a side note: good luck with the guitar, and good taste in music

                    I've been playing the guitar since you were 6 years old, and I can tell you, find an easy song you like, and spend hours upon hours playing it.

                    Just keep practicing it and be patient and persistant.

                    An easy one I can think off the top of my head is 'One Year, Six Months' by Yellowcard.

                    Look me up on IM and I'll help you out.

                              Starting off with easy songs is a good way to gain confidence. Thinking is half the battle, the other is training your body to respond to input from your mind.

                              I suggest some White Stripes if you're looking for easy. Seven Nation Army is the first song I learned, then you can progress to Black Math and Dead Leaves on the Dirty ground.. etc etc.

                              Speaking of guitar, I need to buy a gig amp so our band can play this spring
