i heard that base price on a new civic will be around 19k, which defeats the original purpose!

Though I'm pretty much married to muscle, I really wouldn't mind owning a civic as a daily driver, because after all civics are only crappy cars when you put a coffee can muffler on.

And the Cobalt comes with a monster spoiler?! How about noooo Scott. Don't be partial just because its GM. The car is freakin ugly.

I don't know about the base civic, but the Si has the same engine as the RSX (probably not the same interior fit and finish though).

I like how their bottom of the line car has navigation now. I could do without the artistic layout of the gauges. All in all it seems like a nice car.

And you can't do a pulley swap on a NA engine.

</font>[/QUOTE]I'm still not impressed. I'd rather buy a Civic which at least looks nice, has navigation, gets better gas mileage, etcetera. The Cobalt just seems like crap to me. It doesn't look good, it comes with a rice wing stock, and it doesn't produce much HP at all for a supercharged car wearing an SS badge.

Come to think of it, I can think of a LOT of imports I'd rather have than a Cobalt. If you want a ricey car, get a ricey car.. not a domestic immatation of a ricey car.

I'd pimp one, 197 isn't too shabby at all in a daily driver.

I really have to say I'm impressed with my mom's 2001 Civic, the interior is very nice and the ride is excellent.

It probaly makes 197 hp at 7400 rpm and 110 tq at 5000 rpm, I would much rather have a cobalt ss or the srt4.

Has anyone seen the sedan yet??? Those are horrible looking.
