    People dont like the car cause its a neon?

    All base models have to start somewhere

    Lancer >>> EVO, Neon >>> SRT4, Impreza >>>WRX

    anyways its hell lot of a sleeper car if u ask me!

      does it look like a neon = yes
      does it feel like a neon = somewhat...
      is it fun = yes
      is it quick = yes
      worth the money = yes (2005 does not have the 7/70 power train warranty anymore, just the 3/36 limited new car warranty)

        OOOo.. A VIDEO.. WOW! I can bring in SRT-4 videos ALL ****in day of stock internal SRT-4s with big blowers and upgraded fuel systems that are dynoing 400 WHEEL horsepower. [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img] Just because idiots dont build them right and think they can up the boost without adding proper fuel or exhaust upgrades break em doesn't mean they are unreliable and unmoddable. Hell, if they are "unmoddable" why does Mopar have 3 different stages of upgrades you can purchase which even come with their own warranties and dont even void factory warranties? The Stage 3 which has been known to put it at over 300 wheel horsepower. [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img]

        SRT-4s dont need to push 600 horsepower easilly, they're not drag cars. Never were intended to be all out straight line racers. You're comparing apples to oranges here.

        People who say they dont like it because "its just a neon" dont seem to know jack **** about these cars. Simple as that. Ignorance is bliss I guess.


        If you have a problem with the SRT-4 because its little brother is a slow econobox then you should have a problem with your car because it IS the little brother to a bigger badder car. Dodge used the "its just a neon" gimmick to boost sales as a sleeper and something people will be surprised and in shock of when they realize wtf it is. You need to get out in the race scene more and listen to some people hustle -- "its just a little 302 with a couple bolt ons.." "it's just a stock LS1" .. RIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHHHHTTTTT.


        Im not arguing its NOT a part of the neon base, Im just saying its not JUST a neon like everyone, including you, keep saying it is...

            You know what I mean though. I drove my Buick wagon through a Dodge intrepid. Litteraly. The whole front end exploded into parts and was gone. only was doing 30-40 and all I did was bend my bumper some.

                How can you say they depreciate? They havent been out long enough to tell, and look at the WRX.......those things with like 40,000 miles still sell for 18-20K

                  It was actually crazy. Guy tried a bump n sue maneuver. he did a tiny bump and got all irate, yelling n flaying his arms. Like a car jack maneuver or something. Just a tiny bump of the bumpers. his front to my rear.

                  I wasn't stopping to find out. So he tried to act like a cop. So as I did a Uey in someones yard, he tried a blocking maneuver. actually I would of just drove by but at last sec he pulled in front of me. so in grass I just stomped it and drove though his car.

                  Dude was having a bad day or trying to pull something. I was not gonna hang out n find out what it was. He probably couldn't make his car payment n so he started an accident. It was a real nice new one.

                  He tried to say I hit him head on and fled. His insurance company tried to sue me, tried. The truth comes out and he gets sued by his insurance company for filing a false report. $13,000 report.

                  Don't matter who you are. only the police are allowed to use their car as a weapon. He wanted to play demo derby and lost. Lost big time.

                    Nikon...Wow. A big body Impala is just a Caprice with a different grille, suspension upgrades, and aluminum heads. A GTP is just a Grand Prix with a blower. A C5 Z06 is a Base C5 with tiny upgrades. An SVT Lightning is a Ford F150 with a different powertrain. An EVO is just a Lancer with a different powertrain and exterior upgrades. Should I keep going? Theres ALWAYS going to be a base model. Thats like saying a Mustang Cobra is slow and unreliable because the N/A Ford 3.8s that are in base Mustangs have problems with poor headgaskets and that Camaro Z28s suck *** because theres guys with base Camaros that are stuck in the 16s or 17s.

                      Mostly any new car goes down 2-3k right after u drive it out of dealers lot anyways. Mostly good imports keep their value for a while and some domestic.

                        Diesel trucks are one of the only ones that dont (at least around here)

                        A brand new one with dealer incentives goes for $35-40k A used one 1 year old sells for $35-40k, a 2 year old one for $32-35k, a 3 year old one for $28-30k (assuming average miles)

                            I mean I respect them just not a car I woudl want. Jsut seems for the money I'd rather have a Stang Gt, hell maybe even a subaru legacy Ltd(detuned STi drivetrain)

                              and an envoy,denali envoy,caddi srx and an isuzu are all trailblazers too, wait so is a tahoe, yukon, denali, escalade, THE LIST GOES ON! whatever dude, it still holds that damn diamler-chrysler sh*t badge, they were better seperated; I retain my statement. and depreciation...kid bought one from a dealership around here, paid 20 and change, put maybee 1000miles on it, traded it in at my dealership, he was happy to get the 16k we gave him, for it was the highest offer he had gotten.
                              another point, if your not going for the style of the neon, why not look at the pt-cruiser HO, same motor, 20hp diff...lemme guess thats the basemodel of the srt-4, right?...gimme a break, get a life. stop badgering about some damn car that one person (whom has much respect here) likes...GET OFF THE TRAIN!

                                Uhm - PT Cruiser is the same chassis as the Neon. Its a Neon in drag ;) Im not badgering the cars, Im telling epic who seems to badger them because its "just a neon" theres more than just one car thats "just a ______"
