There's so much more to a car than 1/4 mile times.
Get what will make YOU happy. In MY opinion, they're hella fast little NEONS. But you can strap a jet engine to the roof of a pinto and all you have is a fast pinto; not an amazing car.
I know a guy with one that would probably show my Z28 his ugly taillights, but he has to look at this in his garage every night, and I get to look at this. Just keep that in mind.

Stock for stock, the LS1 has the edge over a SRT4. BUT a few cheep mods will get the SRT4 equal with an LS1.

About the "You can strap a jet ongine on a pinto and it's a fast pinto, blah blah, not fun to drive, blah blah blah" have any of you guys driven a Neon that's been well taken care of (i.e. not a trashed out rental with an ATX)? The Neon is a FUN car to drive, even more so than my Camaro. I was constantly reminded how nimble my Neon is whenever I left the Camaro at home to drive the Neon.
Now, if a Highline Neon is fun to drive, imagine driving one with better suspension, tires, etc.!!!
Oh wait, you guys wouldn't know. You haven't driven one... :D

I will always have a bias toward FWD. I know there's some good handling fwd cars out there but I just believe in starting off with the optimal platform and having all 4 wheels sharing the work underneath you
Yeah, I'd only get a WRX if it were the STi, and I wouldn't get an EVO because it would get stolen out from under my azz... :D
