I swear, it seems like every day someone is mentioning some commercial or TV show and I'm clueless. I haven't turned my TV on other than to watch a DVD or in rare cases CSPAN or FOX News, in so long that I can't even find my remote, and I don't care.
How does everyone find all this spare time to sit in front of a box?
i dont watch tv. i hate the news. and i fall asleep in from the television.. unless its family guy and athf. bu thats a whopping 45 min a day of tv

I don't watch much if any regular programming. I was hooked on King of Queens about a year ago and that's rare for me to get hooked on a newer sitcom, but now about the only thing I watch on TV is CNN for the news. People tell me the names of some TV shows and I have no idea what they are talking about. Mind you, tonight I was watching this cool show on TLC called Overhaulin, where they took this girl's 05 Mustang GT and souped it up and then surprised her. I like shows like that about cars, like Monster Garage with Jesse James, but again, I don't ever tune in regularly.
I thought I was alone here, I havent watched tv in 2.5 yrs. Rarely do I catch anything of interest these days.
Long time ago when TNN had Shadetree Mechanic, I was glued. I loved that show.
Back in 2001, I watched in horror the planes crash into the WTC on CNN so at that point I lived life on the outside, hiking and doing things that was worthwhile than sitting inside wasting away. Life is short, that's for sure.
TV sucks so bad these days I just phased it out of my life. Plus it's unhealthy being a couch potato.
I don't fight for the remote anymore.
The messages you get from commercials is to buy buy buy, eat eat eat & look at me, youre a moron for not taking charge of your life.
The Carlton Sheets, Russ Whitney & the McCorkle scams; the most stupid building wealth & get rich quick home foreclosure schemes & seminars late at night bugged me the most, such fake people!!!
I wish intelligent people voted in the last election. The majority of ignorant, lazy a$$ people who watch re-runs of dumb mindless programs and soaps got to vote for once in this last election and this is one reason why in my opinion that the USA I love is clearly in the dumps.
Kill your TV.

I forgot to mention something. Christmas is my favorite time of year. But these last few years, the one thing I have been really hating for that time of year is the onslaught of advertising on TV. Its justover the top, and it makes me almost fed up of the season. Isn't that sad? A time of year once treasured is being made stressful and more exploited into a media advertising frenzy that makes you look forward to when the Christmas "rush" is over and done with. Put your seat belts on, once Thanksgiving is over its full throttle on the Christmas advertising. I love XMAS, but I hate the hustle and bustle and going into shopping malls that are crammed with gazillions of people rushing to purchase stuff for that one day. Wasn't Christmas about celebrating baby Jesus' birth and all that... being with family, etc. Oh yeah, sure you can do that too, but might you need a bottle of Captain Morgan Rum, some fine chocolates, a new Lexus or a Black n Decker Drill with 250 piece set of bits to take along for the fun of the season? We'll soon be bombarded with reminders about these products in the commercials to come prior to XMAS.
Depends on when you watch TV. I watch the news or something while eating dinner. Then I'll watch American Chopper, Monster Garage, and Monster House while using the home gym crap. Then sometimes late at night just before bed. TV is my very last resort though when I just can't find a thing to do.
Then again, there's times where it acts like a damn magnet. You walk by and someones watching something interesting. Before you know it, you are right on your *** watchin too.

I really hate Xmas for this reason alone. Advertisers push "the perfect gift" so much, that you feel inferior for giving something "not perfect". Everything has to be perfect. Arg, can't I just give a gift and it be appreciated even if it is not perfect? I hate it. X-mas can be crossed off the calendar for all I care now - thanks to commercials.
More to point, I never watch "prime time tv" except for Monday Night Football. The news is always on in the background when I'm doing stuff around the house, but I rarely sit down and watch it. Who has time??? Maybe 2 hrs a week for stuff like Hot Rod tv and this old house.
I miss Shadetree mechanic!
