Good, less idiotic SUV drivers on the road, and more 4-banger imports that I can humiliate.

GM and Ford will survive.

When the government steps in and has to pull them out of the gutter like they did to Harley Davidson? They got their asses handed to em by imports. Maybe Ford and GM need to take the approach HD did. BUY AMERICAN! YOU ARE COOL IF YOU DRIVE A GM or FORD! People will like you and respect you, especially when you wear our clothing line and other useless marketing trinkets! Buying 50 year old technology is the way to go!

Sorry sorry, lol, got a little too carried away with the HD side here.

Look at my fleet. Even at $6/gal we wouldn't trade for an econo-deathbox. I'd just have to work harder to pay for the fuel :(

I'm not sacrificing my family's safety to save a few $ on gas.

As for bush being responsible for high gas? I thought everyone said bush was trading america's young blodd for oil? If he was gas woudl be cheaper.

wow my post got deleted for no reason.. i had asked if it was true that ford and gm had combined efforts to have a 6 speed auto tranny on their vehicles.. thus increasing gas mileage.. it's on topic, why the delete?

BTW.... Mercedes has a 7 speed tranny ;)
I consistently see 31 mpg out of my 4,000 pound sedan powered by a v6 :D

I HATE damn SUV's.
They are slow
They get sucky gas mileage
They insist on driving in the fast lane (typically, from what I have seen)
They are too damn big and I can't see around them.

I think we should bring back the neon.... and have everyone drive neons.... that is... called heaven :D

yep then we all live in poverty under an oppresive greedy dictator. But hey i guess if everyone made 5/hr we would be happy right?

wrong
</font>
Be careful here dudes. Capitalism and Communism are types of economies. They can be combined (theoretically) with any type of government (Republic, Socialistic, Democracry [which the US is NOT - we are a Republic]). One does not imply the other. Although, typically, they can be seen in certain well-known pairs.

Some theorize that Capitalism doesn't work, nor does Communism and the sweet spot is the combination of the two. As can be seen, the US is a hybrid approach moving towards communism more over the years.

Sorry. Poly-Sci lesson over. Sometimes I can't help myself. :D

Maybe now they'll stop designing and building what the designers want to drive, and start paying attention to what the CUSTOMERS want to drive. ???

People always buy in excess of what they need. Now that gas prices are not going down, those people are coming back to earth and buying something more efficient. GM and Ford will be hit hard, but they will survive. Just proves my point that they didn't need a big truck in the first place. My parents raised my brother and I in a little piece of crap station wagon. We didn't have an suv, and neither do most people. Notice how more station wagons are starting to show up. They are just called cross over vehicles now. Granted, some people with large families or folks who do a lot of hauling or towing would need one, so there will always be a market for big trucks and suvs. Some people just like big vehicles, but these people just deal with the high prices.
