I hate to say it but stock for stock the supra will run away with it. IMO the tta is a better platform than the GN anyway, its just really cool to pull up in grandpa's car and smoke a corvette.

      Well Stock wise, Supra has the advantage because it is a sportcar and was made that way. The GN had a lot more restrictions thanks to GM because it doesn't want it to beat the Corvette. Plus it's not really viewed as a sportscar.

      Supra=320 hp stock

      GN(X)= 301 hp stock (underrately mentioned as 250 hp).

      But the GN was stop in '87. A turbo Supra of the same year was making a lot less HP.

      This would be cool to see:

      NA Supra vs. NA Buick

      Stock TT Supra vs. T GN

      Tuner TT Supra vs. Tuner T GN

        For America yes. </font>
No I swear they are hp restricted in Japan like the skyline. </font>
I believe they are to a certain extent. I think its 287 hp, but it only can't be rated higher than that. A lot of people say the engines produce more, but its just rated at that for a gentlemen's law. </font>
276 is the limit over there tho many of the supercars break it (a r34 skyline gt-r says it makes 276... but its acually closer to 340)

              If GM was restricted because of the corvette, why was the GNX faster? The stock vette back in 87 would run high 14's with the crappy 245hp L98 v8, while the gnx was running high 13's. The GNX basically destroyed any stock production car back in the 80's and could still beat many new cars in production today. Gm also uses a version of the gn tubro v6 in the 89 pontiac trans am. They put smaller heads on the car to fit in the f body and it made more horsepower. This car was also faster than the corvette.

                Ya'll are wrong - G-Body cars WILL corner.. G-Body being Monte Carlo, Regal (including GNX), El Camino.... But to say a Supra will run a 9 second 1/4 mile and out handle a GNX is ignorant, have you ever seen the suspension setup on a 9 second car? It's not a suspension friendly to twisties. GNX or Supra...
