This puts LA, TN, AR, FL, NC and maybe even GA in play for the Dems. If they won 2-3 of those plus get PA and ohio and all of their sure shots like CA, MD, MA, NY, DE, WA... they have victory in the bag.
Right now GOP can only claim the sparsely or moderately populated Deep South (exluding Texas which is population heavy, obviously), West and Midwest as theirs... with possible Dem wins in CO, MT, GA and SD.
Everywhere else the GOP can not count on - not even NH and MO which have been peripheral strongholds for them in the last couple elections.
Bush's coat tails in 2002 showed a huge swing to the right in the American electorate that really wasnt there. A.) Most senate wins were by slim margins even in GOP leaning states.. B.) The electorate has balanced out which is evident by Bush's plummetting approval ratings.
