DSM is diamond star motors (mitsubishi and dodge basically) Theres the DSM triplets: Eagle Talon, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and Plymouth Laser. I'm pretty sure there is another grouping too. I've heard some bad things about them, and front what i've taken in most of its true. My buddy has a 1g Eclipse GS, has an oil leak that nobody can find... I've read some horror stories about them. But good luck!!

Hope you have a wad of cash always handy for when it breaks down. DSMs are beasts when they run, so keep it running and all will be well

Hmm... when you said GSX I was thinking Suzuki GSX-R. Then I would have been happy for you .

DSM's are beautiful and powerful cars but EXTREMELY unreliable and horrible...Dodge Stealth's , Mitsubishi Eclipses' , Eagle Talon's etc...All garbage...

Former DSM owner here too. definatly not reliable but they can be made VERY FAST! Definatly get an AWD turbo or you will be greatly dissappointed. Unless you mod it past a 13 second quarter, reliability shouldnt be too bad.

P.S. Dodge Stealths/3000GTs are pretty reliable unless it's a SOHC.

Their transmissions were complete and utter crap.

Are 300 ZX's considered DSM?

why would they be? take talons and eclipses, they look nearly identical, also take 3000gt's and dodge stealhs, here again, extremley similar, same motors etc etc...
It\'s a beautiful life<br /><a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2035163\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2035163</a>

DSMs are eagle talons, mitsubishi eclipses and plymouth lasers. That's it. 300ZX is nowhere near a DSM, same goes for Stealths and 3000GTs. The DSMs all share the 4G63 2.0L turbo and non turbo motors along with that crappy transmisson. My dsm though, had the poor 1.8L SOHC 4G67 motor and a crappy transmission. 92hp baby! (at the flywheel no less!)

No, 300ZX is a Nissan.

Well I was reading about them, and neatless to say that many people have so many problems with them cause they start beating on them. Just like any other car if i start driving it hard without maint. it will bound to break, u have to remember that any car before 2000 with have decent amount of miles on it.
Im also being very pick on the milage on the car too, so im not getting anything over 100k.

Also I know what im getting in to with buying a DSM so im kind of prepared for it.

"...its not a DSM unless it breaks once a week."
