does anyone know why pur air bags dont always deploy? kinda scary to think about.

The airbag sensors are in the center of the car. It has a be a direct hit in the center of the bumper to set them off. For some reason, GM designed it that way. The off center front impacts will set them off only if the force is great enough and I don't have a value for that.Originally posted by loser:

Well from the way I hit, it was a direct center impact.
Hmmm, maybe I can contact GM and plead my case. Maybe they will pay to reapir the car ::fingers crossed::New Toy Red 94 Formula LT1

I just contacted GM and they are going to send someone out to the lot within the next 2 days and take a look at the car and see if the airbags should have deployed and if so, why not.
The insurance adjuster just called me and i will meet with him tomorrow to look at the car.
On a good note I just re-read my insurance file and it says "First accident forgiveness applies. The first surcharge for a future at-fault accident will be waived" Basically it means my premium wont go up because of this WOO HOO :D

I'd say without a doubt that car is totalled.
I didn't do near as much damage to my 2000 Z28 and they totalled it out. Of course, the airbags DID go off...
Had they not, I probably would have been upset cuz Sarah was in the car...2011 Camaro LS 6M, in black.Comment
