Surgery

so on the 20th i gotta go in for orthoscopic(?) surgery...i used to race downhill mountain bikes when i was about 15...like on the x games and sh*t ...my bike of choice? ..the cannondale super v carbon 700 missy giovi signature edition...hehe...anyways...i was running a course the day before a race...i didnt know it had rained there a couple days before..the rain cut a ditch across the mountain..called a water bar...i hit the water bar at 45mph ...separated my collar bone from my shoulder (grade 3 a/c separation)...and shattered my wrist...along with the right side of my helmet...my wrist healed fine...despite having to have it re-broken by hand about 3 weeks later because it wasnt set right...but my shoulder bones are starting to calcify and rub together...limiting range of motion and causing pain...so they have to go in and remove a piece of my collar bone...i'll be in a sling for a couple weeks...and then 3 months of physical therapy after that...its gonna BLOW! :(

^^^ thanks man [img]smile.gif[/img] ...the last time i had surgery was for my wisdom teeth...which was funny because i told the doctor (joking around and half laughing and all) that if i woke up in the middle of this i was gonna kick his @ss...after i was done and he was bringing me to the recovery room he told me that he gave me 3 times the sedation he normally gives a patient lol [img]graemlins/rock.gif[/img]

im never afraid of the pain..its just gonna be SUCH a pain in the @ss...it actually didnt hurt when it happened...but then i went in to shock and that sucked...but i had a friend who was spotting behind me (making sure if i crash comeone knows about it) ...i checked myself over when i was laying there...saw my wrist in a "Z" and my shoulder all f*cked up...i looked up at him laughing and said dude i think i broke something...he just kinda laughed back saying ya think??? lol ...but i guess it doesnt hurt when you're not expecting it and it comes so fast...this one might be a b*tch...like when i had the wrist re-broken...worst pain in my life! ...they dont even use some instrument or something...its old school man...in their two hands lol ...thats messed up

Down hill mtbing is crazy, I tried it once and killed myslef, so know I just do cross country once and a while. Good luck bro.

It almost sounds like you got lucky taking a spill going that fast. I hope it heals well, hell, maybe you'll form a super collar bone. Probably not, but it'd be cool.

awesome...did you used to race competition or just for the hell of it?...what happened to you?...i tell ya ..after my accident i've never been on a bike since lol

just got out...they removed about an inch of my collar bone...doing well [img]smile.gif[/img] ...some irratic breathing while was under so they had to use a breathing tube so my throat hurts like hell...shoulder does not at all...now anyway...go figure...NOT looking forward to physical therapy lol...thanks to those who wished me well! it should heal fast, i had that kind of surgery for my torn ACL 2 years ago, with in a month i could jog on it, and a year later i was back down to 4.5 40yd. my doc told me that it will take my mind longer to heal than my body. hope all goes will with thearpy, that **** hurts like a mutha

Glad to hear you are doing okay. BTW, it takes a hard core member to post on this message board after you got out of surgery. Now go rest, and have one of the sexy nurses give you a sponge bath [img]graemlins/naughty.gif[/img]

haha..thanks everyone [img]smile.gif[/img] ...yup...im sitin here typing with one hand and trying to get used to the mouse with my left hand lol..but i love helping other members out ..and talking camaros..im still gonna be racing mine on saturday hehe..im extending the wires on my nitrous switch so it sit in my lap instead of having to stretch my shoulder to hit it [img]graemlins/rock.gif[/img] lol..id have to be in a colma to be taken away from racing [img]smile.gif[/img]

My funny bike story.....i was riding my bike down a road they were doing construction on...had it all dug up so it was a good 3 feet or so down into it. I wasent paying attention and looked up and saw a car coming at me. I freaked out, turned right into the construction ditch, and flipped over the handle bars. It hurt a little, but i laughed at myself.
