Ford does not beat GM. GM still makes good quality top of the line cars, trucks and SUV's.

500 hp Vette that's NA compare to Ford's Cobras. It doesn't even hold a candle to it. Besides, Ford has been depending alot lately on Force Induction to boost up their power. And outside companies like Steeda, SVT, Rosch and such. GM is all natural aspirated and it holds up in its own.

GM's high performance car are more reliable too.

also what chevrolet models are you refering to? the cobalt ss? or maybe ALL of chevrolets boosted l67 vehicles?

i wasnt a real big fan of the new mustangs, i thought they looked horrible, i hated the retro look. but, now its just those little changes that make it look decent looking. their nice looking cars.

Theres a difference tho... Z06 is a freakin 7 LITER in comparison to the 5.4 liter (in the 07 Cobra).. I wouldn't exactly say that GM BEAT Ford there.. Besides, swap a pulley and you'll eat Z06s like their nothing with that car. And least we forget base price on that Cobra will probably be just over half of that of a Z06. *nods* GM really beat em! ..... *shakes head* Dont get me wrong, new Z06 is SICK, but your argument of "its blown, they lose" is reeeetarded.

Neat. I don't want to be the early adopter, though.

Anyone who buys the first year model of a domestic car is asking for trouble-- you become the beta tester for Ford, GM, DCX, etc.

Just think back to the nightmarish release of the 6.0 Ford diesel engine, with transmission recalls on the way; early Ford V-10's blowing spark plugs out of the head; Head gasket failures on the early 5.4's; GM's piston slap fiasco; DCX's early 2.7 liter V-6's...

I congratulate the Ford design guys. At least on the exteriors. I doubt the price difference between the Z06 and the Cobra will be as large as some of you think, though.

Ford is still playing catch up to GM. 4.6 is not that reliable. My brother in law has a 2002 GT and it's always going back to the shop. My SC 3.8 is way older and it hasn't seen a mechanic. Other than an oil leak.

Ford has had more recalls than any cars out there. There's my ignorant statement.

Now which would you rather have? A Vette or a Cobra.

I don't think so. As Mighty Thor liked to state, Ford has had tendencies lately to just slap blowers on those things just to up the power. GM is doing it NA. I am not sure where in your mind you think Ford is beating GM with this car? Could it be the looks that you like maybe? That is all a matter of opinion, one I cannot share with you.

And lets not talk about Ford and their recalls. My mom already has a stack of recall cards sitting at home, probably 25-30, not to mention the work that she already has done. And she owns a Taurus. Tell Ford to build a car right the first time, and maybe those cards might not have to be sent out once a month for something new.

Ford and their recalls? hahahaha. You guys obviously dont own too many Chevys. How about all the ignition switch and fuel pressure regulator recalls they've been having recently? Cat converter recalls? A couple air bag recalls... etc etc...


Fords look worse mostly because they wait longer and it effects more cars because they do parts-bin-sharing across the line between different cars and trucks..


And I still cant believe people are saying "Ford slaps a blower on!", no - they dont "slap a blowe on" and this isn't exactly a "new design", the modular 5.4 liter has been around since the 2nd generation Lightning and I think its "beta stages" are well over with, especially being its not THAT much different than the 4.6 modular motors.


GM making power N/A compared to Ford making power blown is comparing a naturally aspirated **7** liter to a Supercharged 5.4 liter.. I agree, no replacement for displacement, but you can NOT argue with the numbers Ford is putting down with their blown modular motors for how small the engines are. Hell, compare the Supercharged 4.6 to an LS1 or LS6 even... Bang for the buck leads to the supercharged 4.6 in the 03/04 Cobra.


In fact, Ford isn't exactly "beta testing" anyone right now except for with their new V6 design and their new automatic transmissions. Otherwise, the modular motor really hasn't changed.

hey, that's true... that flat six IS turbocharged, and otherwise would look pretty meek next to the LS2 (a 5.7, by the way, not a 7 liter); same with the Supra's I-6 [img]graemlins/banana.gif[/img]

but yeah, they do tend to slap blowers on Ford motors; hmm.. I wonder what the output would be like on a 5.7 with a blower. :D

dude, ford's always been short in the power department, so they make up for it with power-adders

a blown GTO would make a Cobra look like a Mini Cooper
