I would have to assume there is a reason he wants to make the trade. If you are interested tell him you want to take it for a drive and take it to a garage or something you trust and have them look at it. Also run a carfax report on it.

Like I said in the other LT1 post, I know of one that went 200k without any problems. I'd take it to a trusted mechanic and have them look it over. If it's in good order, it might be alright.
