I installed Mandrake 9.0 (finally) on one of my servers that I got running (finally again), but now it doesn't want to interact with anything on my LAN. It can view webpages fine, but it will not allow computers on the LAN to access it's services (ssh, samba, webmin, etc). Computers on the LAN can successfully ping it. What am I missing here?

Maybe mandrake has all the ports closed by default?

Check your /etc/inetd.conf file and make sure those services aren't commented out. If they are just uncomment those lines and send a SIGHUP to your inetd process to re-read the file.

Also, make sure the executables for those services were actually installed on the box.

Most of the ports come closed by default. ssh is usually open, though. Try what mjparme said.
