Not to mean any harm to you or anything... But if you are drinking a gallon of water a day and nothing else you're going to be in serious trouble... No I'm not a doctor, but I have taken medical classes for the last 6 years, and am starting EMT/Paramedic school in 2 months... If you're going to be drinking that much water, you need to be drink powerade, or atleast the Propel water.. And here's why:

You drink nothing but water all day, and say you drink a gallon of water and thats it, you're going to go to the bathroom more, right, and you're body isn't going to make the electolytes it needs to function, and you're going to lose things you need.. sodium.. potassium.. Do this long enough and you're body doesn't get that its essential just like killing your self....
Make a long story short, even it out.. If you drink the water, drink something like powerade and coke every now and then.

The reccomended intake of water Total water intake at the reference level of 3.7 liters (1 gallon) for adult men and 2.7 liters for adult women per day covers the expected needs of healthy, sedentary people in temperate climates.

Coke? Are you kidding me? You know how bad soda is for people? It's acidic. It ruins your teeth, i used to love coke, but it ruined 3 of my teeth, they have been capped. Sports drinks give you what you need but are not reccomended if you eat foods with sodium in them already.

The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day. You are unlikely to suffer from water intoxication, even if you drink a lot of water, as long as you drink over time as opposed to intaking an enormous volume at one time. As a general guideline, most adults need about three quarts of fluid each day. Much of that water comes from food, so 8-12 eight ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake.

I eat lots of tuna, pork, steak, chicken.

Today I weighed myself, I gained another half pound. I should probabyl start lifting weights soon before I get fat.

I'v found out that people lift too much too.
My friend has been lifting for 3 years, he isnt much bigger than me, he is well toned but he still looks scrawny. He lifts for 3-4 hours every other day. He is just killing his muscles. Eventually he will get huge but not for atleast another 3 years. There is ways to gain massive bulk in just 1 year. But you have to be dedicated. You cant stop eating. I'v found tha doing heavy weights and low reps 4-5 sets, then rest a day, then lift again. And also make your main course meal the one before you goto sleep. I'v found this method to build muscle fast. My arms throb but I can feel them growing, its nuts, its the best feeling in the world. next to sex

*shrug* I'm not in too much of a hurry to gain alot of weight. I'm 5'6" 135 lbs. I've been the same weight since grade 9. I'm now 22. I'm in really good shape, and am in Taekwando, which has really made me very toned. However I wouldn't want to put on a bunch of pounds, because as far as sparring goes I'm very quick and fast on my feet, yet I can kick harder than guys that have 40 or 50 pounds and 6 or more inches on me(not fat guys, guys in great shape).

Even if you get in great shape and dont "bulk up" alot, you'll still feel great, and people will still take notice, even you're ex.

Want to talk to my 16 year old sister who just about killed herself with water? I'm just telling you what the doctor said... She didn't drink it all at once either. But you shall learn the hard way.. Just alittle FYI warning there for you

Overdosing On Water Can Be Dangerous
05/02/2005

Q. I drink at least eight large glasses of water every day to maintain good health. When I play soccer or tennis I force myself to drink a lot more.
I recently heard that you can drink too much water. What are the consequences?

A. People have been led to believe that they need to drink a lot of water to stay healthy, especially if they are exercising vigorously. But new research suggests that there are hazards to overdosing on fluids.

A study in the New England Journal of Medicine (April 14, 2005) revealed that marathon runners who drank more than three liters during a race were more likely to develop a complication called hyponatremia (water intoxication).

If sodium levels drop through sweating and excessive water intake, a person can experience dizziness, confusion, seizures or coma. This can even be fatal. The same complication can occur when parents force fluids on children with fevers from colds or the flu.

Drinking to quench thirst is usually a good guide to preventing dehydration. But don't force yourself to drink more than you want. And don't count on sports drinks to prevent hyponatremia.

Take you weight, divide by 3, thats how much water you need a day. .... If you work out alot divide it by two...

Sounds like me. 6'1 at 160lbs before my relationship. Now my girl loves to cook so I had increase my exercises and weights. Now 6'1 at 183lbs. I don't run like I use to but I really should. Weights I do often and Gained a lot of muscle in my shoulds, chest and arms. I'd like to burn a little extra calories off but that means running again and I have a hard time finding time to do it. Use to run 6 miles a day when I had a part time job.

I got everybody here beat by height to weight ratio. 5'6" 242 lbs is the heaviest I've ever been with 12% bodyfat. Today, I'm 221 lbs and I don't know what my current bodyfat is though.

That's nothing new really. Hard gainers or those who consider themselves to be one have problem in the eating department in the first place. But there's something else that I don't trust from that advertising. People gaining 52 lbs in such a short time. I would definately question that.

For people who never train before or eat properly it's not unusual to gain 25-30 lbs of muscles in a year and not by months. And 10-15 lbs the following year and so on. Being a Personal Trainer for over 10 years, I've seen it all from both trainers and advertisers. But if you want to give it a try, it wouldn't hurt.
