was out with my friends last night and a small subject somebody brought up ended up being a 4 hour conversation. Basically started with my friend telling us he was driving through his g/f's neighborhood doing 25 mph on the back roads. He has a camaro and had a full exhaust, windows down and music going. Just cruising along when one of the neighbors come out screaming at him "SLOW THE HELL DOWN". He's like "I'm only doing 25!!".

So we are all sharing our stories about what some people do and say when your just crusing through back roads. I've heard some pretty funny stuff. But for some reason whenever it happens to me it just straight out pisses me off. In my case I was going a little over 25 but not by much. Had my tops off and my exhaust going as a was accelerating when some guys shouts something like "Why don't you drive faster!". I know everybody has a experience like this. When I went to show my parents my Camaro right after I bought it, my mom said "Wow the cars loud".......thats with the stock exhaust.

I said "Just wait to see how loud it can get"

People assume louder sports car, its going faster...


Example my current care and old car with cutouts open and cruising on campus, people would be walking take one step off the curb, see my car and step back on the curb.

Then I will be driving my girlfriend's cavalier, probably going faster then if I was in my camaro and people jsut walk right out in front of me, and I have to hit the brakes like 10 times on campus.

Also seems like when you through a downshift in a loud car to get over, or in a tight spot in traffic, people just sort of slow down and yield the way.

You do that in a normal car and your ****ing sitting there with your blinker on and miss your turn.


Another fun thing to piss of peopel, is blow you your 2nd gear synchros, so you have to drive 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th Thats great, screaming the motor up to lke 4grand cruising around looking for a parking spot.

i was driving down this road in the vette, doing 20-25, just cruising, but holding the rpms up to like 1300-1500 so it was louds a balls. guy came running down his driveway and running down the street after me yelling to slow down. I pull the e-brake and lock them up and just sit there for a few sec. he stops dead in his track and just stairs. Then i put it in reverse and start backing up. he starts walking backwards too. I get to be about 15 feet from him, put it back in drive, hold my middle finger up out the open targa top, and do a massive burnout right infront of his house. [img]graemlins/burnout.gif[/img]

i was going down a street and i just stopped at a stop sign and then started in first gear not even out of first gear this lady starts screaming at me and cursing me out for speeding and being loud.(not true at all might have been going 15 mphs)so the next day that same lady was on the corner again and this time she started to run after my car and thew a shoe at me(thank god it didn't hit my car) so the next day she was there again and i stopped at the sign got out of my car and just say in a nice tone, that this is a school zone and i wouldn't go fast in it no matter what and that she should watch the way that she was talking and behaving in front of all the children. then i drove off. the next day she waved to me!

Was sitting outside my house parked in the road.

It was just idling, I wasn't even in my car..... I was in my driveway cleaning the firebird.

Next door neighbor pulls up in his HUGE SUV, rolls window down, yells at me and says "Slow down, this isn't a race track!!!!"

I wasn't even in the damn car?!?!?!?!?!

I am VERY couteous w/ neighbors, I never romp on the car's or rev them, I just put along on my road at 15 mph at best, I live on a dead end.

Ever since then.... ANY of my toys... if he is outside.... gets parked in the street.... I point the @ss end of the car towards his house... and leave the car idling towards his house!

I was leaving school the one day to go to work and I was pullin out onto the road that ran behind my dorm.. The speed limit is 35, so i got on it a bit in first gear. got up to like 4k... then let off and eased it into 2nd... then qucick drop it in third. bare in mind im now going like 30... well this guy come out of his house and starts *****in to slow down. Im just thinkin...im going under the speed limit and i've seen cars go much faster on this road all the time. yeah.. havin a loud car does get some attention..

I've never really had any problems with my own neighbors. accept for one awhile back when i was at a condo. He was below ours and our garages were next to each other. he would part his car infront of my garage and leave his bike blocking my parking space. I hated that guy so much.

Kristen: I think I would have flipped out if somebody even attempted to throw something at my car. would have given that lady a piece of my mind for sure! I give your credit for restraining yourself ;)

Not the same situation, but I have a couple stories of annoying people as well...

first- was on a two lane road in my old camaro. I forgot to use my turn signal, and switched lanes (no where near the car behind me (An old woman). She cuts a person off using her signal, and we're next to each other at the light. She starts yelling at me for not using my signals. I just laughed at her and rolled up my window

second one- I'm behind another old woman in my current camaro on a two lane road. She's doing like 5-10 under the speed limit in the fast lane, so I switch lanes and pass her. She starts tailgating me to the next light. She gets next to me and starts yelling and cursing at me for no reason. I ignore her and turn up the radio. she continues yelling at me until the light turns green. I decide to thank her by letting her pass, and then flooring it and switching lanes. A little burnout and traction breakage, and she throws her arms up in the air like she's giving up. I felt so much better after that

My brother has filled half the damn block with smoke from a burnout and nobody cared. And the only time people yell at you to slow down is when you're actually going too fast. Even then they won't yell sometimes. God I miss home...

ok first i want to say you all will prolly call me stupid but i am young and thought it was fun at the time. i just graduated a week ago and bout a week before graduation (i was out of school) the seniors came back from a trip from new orleans. i was telling everyone bye and leaving i go to the stop sign pull out and get on it a little bit with my music kinda loud and this guy comes out side and i hear him over my music say slow the f*** down you mother f***** so i went to the end of the road and did a downout and was coming back. i couldnt go fast by his house becasue the 4 way stop was about 20 yards from his house. i go to the school and ask the guys if they heard that and they said no and i was like well i am leaving and watch this. i pull to the stop sign idle out on the road at a couple mile per hour and get almost sideways going by his house and he comes running out side. so later that night i had to go to the school to meet someone (they didnt show up) so i was leaving and there was bout 10 of them coming to my car and i was like holy s*** time to go so i did another burnout in front of his house it was awesom!! i would have got my a** kicked if i would have stayed plus i had noone with me

Well i was driving down my street one day when i heard this loud, "Slow the **** down *******". I was going about 15, speed limit is 20. So I stopped. I saw the guy who did it. I just pulled over and walked up to him and said, "Did you see how fast I was going you ****ing ***?" He said, "Son, i was just joking."

The only experiences with this i have is being the guy on the street yelling. Stupid-a$$ ricer punks moved in at the end of the block and run their hondas & ATV's at WOT up and down the street. Lucklly they're Honda's and they couldn't accellerate to faster than about 35 by the time they get to the end of the block, but the ATV's freakin fly!

If I can have a 350hp car and a 450hp truck and still manage to idle at 15-20mph down the residential streets, they can at least keep their foot out of the "RUN GERBILS RUN" pedal on their Hondas going thru my neighborhood. :mad: :mad:

My wife & I and another neighbor went down and talked to them face to face a few days ago and they appologized but we'll see if it made any difference.

Coming home from a friends house, my parents were outside doing random yardwork. I came in parked it in the driveway and get out of my car. My mom walks up to me and tells me that I need to keep my speed down on residentual streets. I almost shat my pants, I was dumbfounded, then I told her that I was only going 25mph in a 30. My dad chimed in from around the side of the house and told my mom "don't worry, it only looks fast." My dad and I laughed the rest of the night at my mom.

Aside from that, I have gotten a few people tell me to slow down in the neighborhood when I NEVER speed and never would in a neighborhood. Darn cars just look so fast, it's like they are moving while standing still.
