  • Another advantage of my Firebird

With the aftermath mess of Hurricane Frances, I've found another advantage of driving my Firebird.

At the entrance to my community ( http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...303_2_full.jpg ), we have a security guard. Residents have a transponder and can go through a lane that opens a gate as you drive up. Visitors drive in another lane and have to show an ID to the guard. The hurricane has knocked out the transponder system for a while, so everyone has to go to the guard.

The guard is checking IDs for everyone driving SUVs, minivans, Lexus's, Mercedes, etc because there are lots of those and he can't possibly know everyone.

I come driving up and he waves me through, saying, "I know you - nice car."

I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
