....Twin Towers crashing on 9/11.

I perfectly remember being out of a job and driving my pickup truck to apply for this job. I was listening to Classical music while and all of sudden it got interupted by saying a plane crashed on one of the towers. I remember thinking what a horrible accident.

After submitting my employment application, I drove back heading home while still listening to the news. Then all of a sudden a second plane crashed on the other tower. I remember the news caster mentioning that he thinks that is not accident anymore.

Instead of going home, I went to my parents house. My parents, my sister and my sister's boyfriend was there. We were all clued to the TV.

I thought about the times I went to visit NY and the twin towers in '88, '92, and '96 and what the towers looked like from the inside. I thought about my dad's friend who used to be a banker there. But he moved to another company.

Then the most surreal and most horrific thing happened. The towers came crashing down. I was completely speechless. There was a big silience in the room.

I was out running around that morning and when I got home my wife was glued to the TV.

Within 10 minutes another airplane hit the other tower!

We sat there for a couple of hours watching the horror unfold on the television.

Then life returned back as routine for us.

Dad and I were getting ready for a trip to the salvage yard to pull a distributer for my '86.

I was working for Ford at the time at the Norfolk F-150 Assembly Plant. I was a bit late that morning and upon coming in the driver of the shuttle bus said a bomb had just blown up in New York (she had heard wrong). I got in and the loading crew was staring at CNN where they were commenting about the incident. A few people went back to work, others stayed in the break room. About an hour later the second plane hit. I saw both towers collapse--let's just say I didn't get any work done that day.

The entire plant shut down for 3 days afterward and I lost my job about a month later. Sales plummeted so bad that the plant only ran on partial shifts and Ford immediately began cutting staff. I was a quality control auditor--of course I was expendable. :rolleyes:

I was in a trianing class at Anthem BC/BS when it all happened. Someone had come into the room and said something about a plane hitting the twin towers. We got a TV and turned it on and watched as the horor unfolded.

was in HS, A+ class. teacher heard the news, we stopped working on computers and watched the last 2 planes hit. Then the school went on lock down and we werent allowed to switch classes or use the phones.

well i was sitting in math class... and the principal called me and one of my best friends shane down to the office...when i walked down the hall a lot of teachers were crying and no students were allowed out of class but me and my friend shane for some reason...when we got into the office, the principal sat us down and said, "Something terrible has happend, and i need you 2 to get your things, your parents have called. Jessica you need to take your sister and go directly home." then he explained to us what happend, and well one of my closest friends briand works in the pentagon, my mom said his parents called and haven't been able to get ahold of him. I lost it... then we looked on the tv at all the mess...and i went blank, i went back to class grabbed my things and went to get my sister and went home to be with my family. Come to find out... brian was in the filing room instead of his office... which if he was, he would have been killed.

I was in class with my students (across the river from the towers). One of our secretaries came in and told me about the first tower and I turned the tv on. You could hear a pin drop in my classroom as everyone watched tv. One student went to open a window and it slammed shut... The kids were so startled..I never saw that kind of look on 20 kids faces when that happened. I got pissed and yelled "don't anyone move or touch anything." We didn't know what was going to happen next. Then we went into "lock-down". No one was allowed to leave any of the classrooms unless their parents came to get them..... At least half the school was empty by noon. One of our secretaries didn't know what had happened to her husband. He had called and told her about the crash and said he was trying to get down from the highest part of the 2nd tower (I think it was the 150th floor or so). He told her he loved her and after he hung up, she never heard from him again. When I finally got out of there by about 2 o'clock, I just wanted to get as far away as possible. I looked in my rear view mirror as I got onto 280W and the whole NY skyline was black with smoke. Some of our students lost relatives/parents/friends. Our secretary lost her husband. They only found a part of his wallet and teeth. I'm not about to watch the ceromonies today and relive all of that... too depressing. We had to counsel kids and each other through that. I can't imagine what the people on the job or families of victims have and are still going through.

I woke up to take a shower, dad had already had the news on from when he leaves for work (5am) and when I went to the shower, I saw the aftermath of the first plane, but thought it was just some building fire b/c the news does that alot. Then go outta the shower, and saw the 2nd plane hit. After that, I was like...WTF!!!!!!! I had to tell everyone at school cuz I thought I was the first one to see it.

I was in my art class and i watched when the 2nd plane hit the tower, i taught it was a replay of what had happened earlier. But much to my dismay the news castor said " A second plane has just the second tower, oh my GOD oh my GOD"

I was in my Freshman World Geographies class. Once we heard what was happening We tried to watch the tv but it was really fuzzy i could barely see the 2nd plane hit.
