I can buy a nitrous kit for $500 and put down about the same numbers with my GT. Figure in the weight difference, and we running the same numbers.

    The stock bottom end my not be "strong" but it still can handle 400RWHP without any trouble. Any more then that, and you're on borrowed time.

      I guess the darkside has a shade of gray after all.

      I agree though that Stang is oozing with aftermarket parts where you could pick and choose your poison, but a better engine, no.
      How much money do you need to spend to get a 4.6 Mustang into the 11's?? There is 1 all motor mustang here in virgina beach that runs 11's.. He has probably 10,000 into it.. He goes 11.6.. My roomates old 2001 GT had a built motor with built rear, TKO, and a S trimm.. it ran 11.8 with about 20,000 into it.. It made 440 rwhp with 15lbs of boost.. and dont say why do you people waist all this money on V6's!! I dumped 10,000 in my V6 on the motor and all the suspension, rear end, and tranny and that has been the funnest car I have had so far.. But its different with the v6's.. Your making something that wasnt suppose to run with the LS1's at all be able to beat them down!! There is nothing like beating down heads and cam LS1's with a built V6 on the bottle!!

        </font>
You go ahead and spray you 175-200 shot if you want to with no fuel upgrades or what not.. You car maybe puts down 250rwhp on motor.. to be able to make 450 you will need to spray a 175-200 shot!! Go ahead and do it but make sure you take video of it.. I wanna see it when the twig like rods all go through your block!! Your motor is safe with nothing more then a 125 shot.. hell even on that shot its just a matter of time!! The LS1 is built from the factory to be able to handle 550 hp!! So go ahead and put a 125 shot on your car and I just need to get off my lazy butt and put my LS6 intake on my 2000 that I got for 250.00 and we will run.. you on the bottle and me on motor!! isnt it funny.. you have a newer V8 then my car has but in order to hang with it and slim chances of beating my car on motor you have to spray a 125 shot!! And how is that fun driving??

          Probably about ~10k. 5k for the Kenne Bell kit, and another 5k for internals and supporting mods.

          You LS1 owners are all the same. LS1s are great motors, but damn man. It's not the only motor that can be made fast. :rolleyes:

            </font>
Actually, I was thinkging about 450 at the flywheel. Can't handle more then a 125? I dunno what your smoking man, the internals can handle upto 400 RWHP safely. You can run 100 shot without even needing a tune. Anything more and you need a tune, 150 shot is really the limit. Oh yea, I forgot I need a fuel pump and tune, so what, I'm out $800?

            Don't forget that GTs weight about 300lbs less then LS1s.

            And Dude, do you even know what your talking about, newer V8? the 4.6 came out a year before the LS1.

            Wait, what's that slapping noise in my motor GM? Oh you tell me its normal? OH ok.

When I go to the street races, or to car shows I find some v6 F-bodies and hang out with them.. If I was like every other LS1 owner I wouldnt give 2 $hits about V6 f-bodies.. I bet you dont hang out with the V6 mustang crowd!! The bottom line is The LS1 is the best bang for the buck.

                    Are you sure you're not thinking 12's?? I was looking at LS1tech's 11second forum. Most of the people there running 11's NA are bolt ons with H/C and a sh*tload of weight reduction.

                      Every heads cam LS1 I've seen was at least in 10s. Unless you're talking about the 4v please don't compare the 4.6 to the LS1. I'm not saying the 4.6 isn't a good motor, I'm just saying the LS1 is better. I think most LS1 owners are douchebags because of this fact but you have to admit it. Another comparison could be the 5.4 and the LS7, and it would end the same way.

                          Dude, there is no way a H/C only car is hitting 10s man. It would to have to be FI or Nitrous. MAYBE a super extreme weight reduction without nitrous or FI. Isn't the NA record like 11.2?

                          Can an LS1 even get into the 10s with stock internals?

                              Yea, you said all the H/C cars you see are 10s. And if the stock internal record is 11.2 that means te 10 second ls1s are not stock internals.

                              But if you're sinking that much money into a car, then it doesn't matter if its ford or GM because they're both gonna be just as fast.
