i think if you look a little harder and a little further youll find a z28 or trans am you like, even ls1, for 10k. especially a z28.

an LT1 car can be had for under 5k around here.

I also need it to be through a dealer so I can get financed, which eliminates sweet deals like that z28

can you go through your bank, or a bank for financing?

the rate may be a little higher than a dealer though.

theres a dealer around here, woodbridge nj, that has a black 02 z28 for 9999. it also has 99k miles on it though. i checked it out, it looks pretty good, i dunno maybe youd be interested, although it is a bit of a ways from coopersburg.

          they also have a nice v6 '00 camaro and a '72 camaro.

The mustang has 215 hp with 285 torque.. i think the torque is what made it feel so fast.

I am going to look at the red 99 mustang GT tomorrow I couldn't get down to it tonight. I found out it is automatic which I was not to happy to find out but I may give up my 5 speed for the extra 45 horsepower and 15 ft lbs of torque that comes with the 99+ model

If I don't like the red mustang gt the guy from the other dealership called back after having it looked at by the shop and they said they would replace the baring so it is looking like I will have a mustang GT by tomorrow

I tried going through my bank on my firebird and I did not have enough credit to get a loan through them.. I am only 19 and I don't have much credit wise yet. This is going to be my first major loan that is going to establish my credit.

It felt faster.. the front end bucked up more and picked up acceleration quicker. I never got a time with my 100 shot so I have nothing to compare the mustang to when I get it.. It may have just been all the torque from the mustang that made it feel faster.

would you be able to get a cosigner?

                just a thought.

i cant get a loan for myself either since i have relatively no credit history.

besides all this though, im sure youll be happy with whichever car you get.

One thing you could do is a PI head swap(The heads 99-04 have). I've heard that turd styles with the PI swap are slightly faster then stock 99-04s.

As for financing, try capitol one auto finance.

matt g.... you and i both know you want a manual! i wouldnt sacrifice fun. i say go with the 97 mustang. Low miles, and once you get it paid off, you can start puttin on numerous bolt ons to get that thing where you would like it to be. Bolt ons on that motor will net higher gains, than with similar bolt ons with the firebird v6, not to mention most mods will be cheaper. oh yeah, and it will sound badass once you start puttin stuff on it. Hey, he only went to the darkside because he ran out of options. So don't forget the Mustang was still last in his list. He's getting one because theres 2 million of them out there so they sell for a low price because the parents want to buy their daughters newer ones. :D

Sorry, had to bust your balls. ;)

So, with the 99's having only 45 more horse and 15 more torque, are they really that much faster??? Matt G, unless they are tons faster, I'd stick with the 97 and not put yourself in debt. Car still looks sharp either way.

Since you are going with the '97, as somebody mentioned earlier a PI (performance increased) headswap from a '99+ GT would be a good thing to look into. Due to the compression ratio differences between '96-'98 and '99+, the PI head swap will give you more hp than a stock '99+.

But still, that only means you can run side by side with stock LT1s...

They're good for low 14's maybe a 13.0 with a really good driver.
