so now you are sayying $5k ls1s are common?

there are built 5.0s selling for more then $5k, but the average stockish/bolt on 5.0 is more like $1k-3500 depending on the condition.

IF I wanted there is a guy, not sure if he is still selling it but had a turn key 10 second street car 5.0, that looked perfect, for $6k

And you will see lt1s selling for $6k, but like I said you will see them selling for that much but in reality they end up going for like $2500
I am not going by what they are selling for I am going by what the KBB is saying they are worth!! </font>
Good luck trying to find a real car near KBB price.

</font>
Well, for my area, that price is pretty average, and cheaper in most cases.

2000 Firebird V6 $9,799 - 62kmi
1998 Firebird V6 $7,995 - 68kmi
2000 Firebird V6 $9,995 - 55kmi
2001 Firebird V6 $12,500 - 49kmi
1999 Camaro V6 $8300 - 55kmi
There were a few more, like five above or average with your price, and two just below. I guess the point being, unfortunatley around here thats what they are selling for. :(

I wanted another V6 Bird to replace mine, but I refuse to pay those prices. I bought my '97 for 2000 under kbb. I found it in the ad the day it was put in though, and the seller got calls all night and day for the car until they removed it. I just got lucky.

• Prices on these cars vary too much.

My friend picked up 3 t/a's in the last 6 months, all in great running and decent looking condition an '85 305 Tpi for $450
'87 305 Tpi for $800
'86 305 Tpi for $650

sold the '87 for $2500 about a week later after replacing the carpet, and cleaing the interior

sold the '85 for $1500 after nothing at all.

and still has the '86..

I paid $1,500 for my '95 Camaro, which also has a salvage title, guy I know just picked a '94 Camaro in good condition minus a cracked bumper cover for $1300. And I have been offered $2,500 for mine already knowing it has a salvage title. Seen a '96 3.8 auto today in paper with 140k miles on it for $4,000 and just under it a '95 Z-28 auto with 110k miles for $2,300 both look to be in good shape and both say they run good.

Its all messed up cause they stopped making them, and no started again, and gas prices are messing with the market of them. The fact that spring is comming back around. So pay attention to the market you live in, and kinda make a middle ground off that...

</font>
Only if you were here in Virginia Beach.. There are so many navy people here that are 18yrs old that just got stationed here and are looking for a car no matter what the price is.. At the dealerships they have no law for how much interest they can put on a car loan.. I know 1 person at my command that bought a 96 Lt1 camaro for 10,000 with 28 percent interest on the loan.. they are paying 500-600 a month for a car that is 9 years old!! Another fellow at my command bought my buddies 91 Z28 for 8,000.. it had a 305 TPI with 145,000 on it.. Needless to say the car broke 2 months after he bought it and hasnt run since.. that was a year ago.. It just depends on the area you live in.. Hell when I bought my V6 back in 2001 I paid 11,000 for it and the interest rate was 20 percent due to me having bad credit.. my car payment was 470.00 a month.. I didnt care I wanted that car!! 5 months after I bought It I refinanced it for 4.9 percent and my payment went down to 260.00.. I was young and had a good job!!

• The Navy is also the reason why you find great deals on cars in Virginia beach.. I bought my 2000 T/A from a private owner for 7500.00.. Its black with a 6 speed and it had 55,000 miles on it.. The guy was getting sent to Japan for 4 years and needed to get rid of it before he left.. I also bought my old 88 GTA from a dude that was getting transfered to Japan for 700.00.. It was in good condition with 124,000 on it..
