My new car... Changed from 97 to 99 Mustang GT.. PICS!
Wow.. i got to riding it around tonight... wow. I got my first kill in it.. Lancer sports rally or something like that.
I didn't care about that really but i was amazed at how i started accelerating and at 3k rpms I floored it and the tires let loose and started spinning sending my sideways a little bit.. I am going to have to be careful in this car.
I thought 99 was the old style...the one before that one...when did they change over...either way, nice car good thing you went with the newer body, you'll be happy you did. Congrats.

Actually, probably a little slower. Better do that PI swap! </font>
99-04 has the PI heads and whatnot.

And you know what? I was a die hard GM guy to. Then I realized that being brand loyal is stupid.
I didn't know that you had to have an Fbody to be friends with people on this board. Damn, I should have left years ago.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. V6 Fbodies aren't even a race for me. You must have never raced a 99-04 manual GT with a good driver before...

I was also loyal to F-Bodys for a long time until I ran into the problem with nitrous. I was looking for a muscle car around 10 grand and at the time I was looking at cars mustangs were the ones most aviable. I looked at 6 other GTs before I bought this one.
I am really happy with the way these drive and the handling in it is just amazing compared to my firebird. There is just no comparison.
Now when it comes to comfort in driving, my F-Body kills the mustang, I am 6'0" and there is not a lot of room in the cab to spread out and relax. I am still trying to find a comfortable spot lol.
Now down to racing. I am 100% sure that this mustang GT that I own would blow the doors off my v6 firebird while running a 100 shot. The performance I get out of this car when I floor it is like nothing I have ever driven before.
I know in my firebird I couldn't floor it at 3k rpms in first gear and make the tires spin on a flat dry and straight road.
I love camaros and firebirds.. but I have to say this new mustang impressed the hell out of me. I am very happy with the car I bought.
