• I got my new car, Camaro is gone:(

Well after much thinking of insurance and the problems my camaro had(trans), I traded it in today on a 2005 chevy cavalier ls sport. The car is the 2.2l DOCH ecotec motor and its a 5 speed! This car is much cheaper on gas and insurance and its also building my credit up more. I'm 18 and live on my own some money is an issue and I needed a good cheap car to drive. Its rally yellow, loaded. Stick price was almost $23,000 bucks and after rebates and my trade(camaro) Then my discount for working with darcars, I got it for $14,000. I know it isn't as fast as my camaro but its a 5 speed so its more fun. Open to all comments welcome, I know some people wont like it but, its not your car or you money. Sure I know for the price I could have bought a Z28 or an SS but, insurance and gas is a differnt story.

Couldn't hold out for the new Cobalt? I like it's style better, and the Cobalt SS looks like it might be a fun daily driver.

Congrats on the new car though!

If money was such an issue, why'd you mod the Camaro so much (cam, etc)?

yeah living at home and living on your own adds expenses...

but a cavalier actually added up to $23k in sticker?

              Holy hell!!!

14 g's for cavvy including trade in deduction?

                I'm not so sure...

it's ok to get you through the college, though... personally I wouldn't trade maro for a cavvy. Tranny rebuild costs like 1500$ vs 14 grand for cavvy.... and if insurance was such a problem you could always get liability only.

Cavaliers are awesome daily drivers. $14k seems a little high, I got my new '04 for only $10k without a trade.

I only have ONE thing to say

...As soon as it becomes available you need the "belt powered accessory" off of THIS ecotec ;)

Then you'll have the same exact powertrain as the Cobalt SS
