it's ok to get you through the college, though... personally I wouldn't trade maro for a cavvy. Tranny rebuild costs like 1500$ vs 14 grand for cavvy.... and if insurance was such a problem you could always get liability only.

College? He's not in college. He had to switch insurance companies and get on his own policy. I think the cheapest policy we could find was around 8 grand a year.

Money wasn't tight when he had the camaro either. He was living at home with his parents only paying for a couple things, now we have rent, water, electric, phone, etc...

Anyway, the car is really nice. I was kinda iffy about him going and buying a cavalier. But in the end it all works out.

I mean gratned I can see a fullyloaded cavalier going for more hten what you guys are listing but I didn't even think th sticker could get up to $24k. I thought max tey were like $18k, and about $14k on average. $9,000 is kinda low, I think my girlfriend paid, $8800 for a 00 z24 with 17k on it.

Either way as long as you are happy with the car.


BTW, $8k a year for car insurance? Am I the only one that pays $1600-2000 a year for my car with decent coverage? And I am probably in the top 10-15 with worst records on this board. Well then again I haven't had a insurance claim ever reported on my car or a car I hit.

Trust me, even though you may not "like" your new car as much as the Camaro, it's better to buckle down now and get a good start so you can play later, rather than play now and end up with a Mullet and a Double Wide later on in life!!!

Congrats on the new car. I would of rather gotten an SRT-4 for the money, but it wasn't my choice. I also agree that 23k seems awfully high, but obviously he didn't PAY 23k, he paid 14k (16-18k less trade in?)

Thanks to the guys that are actually reading my post. To all the others, send me the money for the car and insurance for the car you think I should have. Sticker was $22,478. I paid invoice on the car which was 16,700, Then $3000 for my trade, After taxes tags, ect. I ended up financing $14,000.

You only got $3K for your trade? Man, I robbed the dealership where I got my GS! They gave me $3,750 for a '94 Camaro. Although it did only have around 55K miles on it and was well taken care of with no major mechanical problems and an aftermarket stereo and speakers.

At least you got something reliable. It should serve you well until you get your next vehicle.

I do believe those cars can do 200K easily with proper maintenance.
