• my mom is crazy

i clean the bathtub/shower area for like 45 minutes and it looks like this:

    www.dmwacoustics.com/misc/bath.JPG

my mom complained and said youve gotta be kidding me im not letting our company shower in that! i thought she was kidding. our company is coming at 7, its only 4 oclock in broad daylight and she is turning on the christmas lights/candles outside and everything. she is like friggin martha stewart! everything has to be picture perfect. she also wanted me to vacuum the hallway and i said sure ill have it done by 5. and she has been yelling nonstop that "why dont i listen to her" and "youre never gunna do it unless you do it NOW". ARGH. moms can be frustrating. i am 19.. and cant wait to get outta this house.

the funny part.. they blame it all on my car. IF YOU DIDNT SPEND SO MUCH TIME ON YOUR CAR NONE OF THIS WOULD BE AN ISSUE... and im like... what?? lol

Encouragement to find a good job or stay in school isn't it?

My parents were up my *** my first half of senior year back in high school and I threatened to join the Navy after graduation and screw college. They finally cut "the apron" strings on me and started treating me better. They aren't ready to accept that you're growing up and have a personality of your own yet.

Move onto a university campus, you can get get student loans to pay for housing if you don't qualify for financial aid.

On a side note if you want to be really mean (I always do it in a joking tone because I have a really good relationship with my mom now) - I say "Keep *****in. That government nursing home keeps looking better and better to me." She promptly shuts up. ;)

I work 50+ hours a week. Dont see my parents much more than a couple->few hours a day. It works out pretty good. They take care of me I take care of them. I'm 20 years old, and attending classes as well on top of that 50+ hours of work. PLUS I am building my mustang (still/always will be) so what time I am there that we spend together is limited

Yeah, my parents used to nag a lot. It took a huge fight with my dad, my parents getting divorced, and me becoming financially independent for college expenses to finally get some respect. Now if either one tries to ***** at me excessively I just kind of walk away and do something else. For the most part, things have been going well at home now.

They nag because they care about you, though. Don't take it personally. All parents have trouble with the concept their kids are becoming adults.

                thats gotta be tough. .
And yeah dont worry too much most parents are like that. To be honest id rather deal with my parents than roommates that i dont even know.

Your parents will become 10x cooler as soon as you move out.

Your parents work hard then try to keep the house clean. It is frustrating to run around like a mad person cleaning and watch someone else loaf around or get to do their hobby. Get off your ***, help your mother, and quit *****ing. Paying for your own place and keeping it clean is 100x worse. Consider youself lucky that you have a house AND have free time to work on your car.

As already said, the second you move out your parents are much cooler.

lol i was kinda thinking the same thing.but if its someone important then you cant really blame her so much. im 15, i get the same stuff.i absolutely hated living home last year, so much in fact i stayed at friends house's untill they were sick of me. but my grades were bad, i was still smoking pot, and then i lit the school on fire. it just wasnt a good year. my brother ( almost 22 ) is looking at houses now, so hopefully when he finds one ill move in with him. i wouldnt mind changeing school much, i dont have any friends anyway. we all get the same crap i guess.

                          Thats the truth.

As for anyone thinking about moving out... best thing I ever did.

If I had to go back and I saved the $30k I have spent in the last 5+ years of living on my own and put it towards a new vette or something and lived at home...

I'd say hell no... fun I had living on my own and all the life experiences, I'd go back to driving my 3rd gen with a shattered piston and be happy.
