So i post my resume in www.monster.com and i get a call from the hiring guy in the Carl Black Pontiac dealership thats like 10 minutes from home. They want me to come in an interview and they're offering 60-75 hours a week [img]graemlins/omg.gif[/img] However I have school until 10 everyday but they still want me to come in for an interview. I've never had experience selling cars, but I know how sales work 'cause I've been doing it for 4 years. Lets say i get the job, and i work 60 hours a week plus i'm a full time student going to school for 15 hours. What would you do in my place? take it or not? Also, has anyone have had experience selling cars? I know its probably full commission so I HAVE to sell cars. So does selling cars really pay off?

If they wanted me to be a car salesman, I'd tell them to take the job and shove it up their ***. Just my opinion.Matt

60 work hours + 15 school credit hours? I'd say no way. you'd be killing yourself.
I work 45 hours at week at my job and only taking 1 college course per semester. I wanted to take 2 classes but I still find it tough to balance that, and the girlfriend, family, hobbies, studying...etc.

I sold cars for 2 years. My best month $6700.00, my worst month $750.00 I'd say I averaged about $3000.00 to $3500.00 a month.
It's either gutters or cloud 9. Just got to remember to budget, and not go on a spending spree when you get a huge commission check.
Then again I saw guys come in and not be able to sell at all, and ended up quiting/fired after a few weeks.
As far as school goes, depends on the lot, the places I worked at would work around your school schedule. Got to remember the less your on the lot, less chance you have to sell a car.Comment
