I was talking to my girlfriend and her sister told me that her friend had been talking **** about my car and how slow it was and all of this. He claims he beat a camaro just like mine.... im guessing it was a 3.4 and worn out at that if he even beat it. This guy has a 99 dodge dakota v6 with NO mods. He mods are in the signature. Basically what i told her sister to tell him is that we will race, before the race we both give each other a list of our mods (he already knows all of mine) cuz i dont want him running nitrous or something. Then we each put down $100 and race for it all at the track. I said since he talks so much **** about my so slow camaro then race me and back it up and if he doesnt hes a pussy. I will race him for no money but i am gonna try and get him to put down some first. I just want to shut him up. Oh get this his reason for saying he can beat me is because "my dakota has a 3.9 and his only has a 3.8." This guy is a idiot. Anyways what do you guys think about this?

Only one way to find out who's faster... Not knowing the specs on his truck, I don't want to say for sure that you'd win, but that would sure as hell be my guess. Like I said, one way to find out.

I do have to say that this guy's logic is moronic. There are plenty of smaller-displacement engines that can outrun our 3.8s. The new GM 3.5 liter 5-cylinder has 25 extra ponies, and I believe that the Honda Accord has a naturally-aspirated 3.0 liter V6 pushing 240hp (but, granted, like 3-and-a-half pound-feet of torque). There's also the MAJOR issue of aerodynamics. His truck is essentially a brick. Even assuming equal horsepower, weight, and weight distribution, he'd have a tough time beating you because his car has to work so much harder against the wind.

Ok man thanks for your smartass remark... i will remember next time. My point was that people are always putting down v6 f-bodies and this tace is going to actually happen, for money. If we werent racing for anything i would just post under kill stories when it was over. I was just making a point of how whacked out some people are about engines and cars for that matter.

I just feel like i have put alot of work into my car and i dont like people putting it down. The only other thing is a few days ago when the guys over at j-body.org were talking crap about camaros. There were numerous people from the fbody forums siging up over there to fire back at them. So whats the difference here except i am an fbody driver. I will not post on this anymore and im sorry if i offended anyone by asking a simple question and telling a stupid story. The title was why are people so dumb and i thought it was funny that his reason that my car was slow was that his had .1 more liters than mine. But my bad i will stick to the basic maintenance and modification help i need from now on and wont post int the lounge.

My dad has a 99 dakota R/T with the 5.9 V8, We stay right next to each other off the line. I pull on him hard in 3rd gear.

I'v raced a v6 dakota before and absolutely smoked it.
