  • AutoXers, Dakota Digital has a cool new gauge!

    check this out:
    http://www.dakotadigital.com/Detail....-1/product.htm

might be useful to you guys. tire pressure for all four, and internal tire temperature.

pretty nifty little thing, but pretty pricy also. id say for what you get, its not that bad of a price.

Its interesting. However I'd consider it a waste of money unless you need real time surveillance of your tire pressure, or your too lazy to get out and friggin check before you race.

True but thats a very expensive way to check for a flat tire in route. Just get into the habit of looking at your tires before you get into the car and no worries. Besides I don't get flats I get blowouts ;)

Also how does it hook up to your tires? The new cars that come with this built into their systems normally have expensive sensors built into the valve stems which raises the price of flat repair if the stem gets damaged, (not to mention the valve is no longer rubber it is metal).

edit: Saw where it says the sensors mount inside the wheel. I'm assuming it means in the same position you mount weights if the rim doesn't have the proper lip on it. Still want to know how that mounts to the valve stim tho.

tell you what though, id definately rock it. w/ expensive tires, highway driving, backroad driving safety, and going to the track to make sure the rears are heated up, it would def. be a cool gauge to have.

plus, i mean, it looks cool. so it must add HP.

</font>[/QUOTE]its a metal band that goes around the rim, nothing fancy, and the vehicles like yukons and VW's that come with the tpm tire pressure monitors are not that much mroe expensive....dealer cost for a TPM on a yukon is like 50$

That temp is a waste. The real way to do it is with a pyrometer and do O / C / I on the tread of all 4 tires!
