Either you're being humorous or you're possibly missing the point. At some point in the year you knew you would have a kid. You could have roughly figured your taxes and adjusted your witholding.

BTW, when I got married this year, I did do the with holding worksheet on my W4, and I still had way too much taken out of my paycheck.
If you would have read my post earlier, I said I'm claiming exempt this year because I won't have a tax liability.
Regardless, I payed 3k in taxes, and I'm getting 5k back. That means, the gov't is giving me 2k more then what I paid.
