I know this won't be popular but... I think Stingrays are ugly. I know they are badass cars I just always thought they were fugly.

That said I would love to take one for a spin. But if my options are classic Stingray or new Z06 I'm taking the Z06.

Yeah you think in 72 it made one hp per cubic inch by today's standards? So then it makes the same hp of a c5 vette... Those are sae gross ratings not comparable to today's standards. I'm, not a corvette expert so someone correct me but I know in 75 the base corvette made only 165hp sae net. But that was with all the emission bs, I know I asked one guy how much hp his early 70s stingray made and he told me 190hp, that's why I said that.

If you had the 454 motor it would be quite a bit faster. Don't think it can run with a 350hp c5 vette, because you would be in for a suprise. Still it's an awesome looking car.

Damn, nice vette your dad has there. '72 was when GM had there engines ordered in the SAE method. So the LT1 350 V8 that year was rated at 255hp. But the true hp stayed similiar to the previous year ('71) at 330hp.

But if my options are classic Stingray or new Z06 I'm taking the classic Stingray.

I think Stingrays are AWESOME! I would absolutely love to have one someday! My uncle Craig has an '82. VERY classy car! Post a picture of it man! also...

Hey 99 RS Camaro- Believe it or not, there were a few years that the Corvette only had 190 horsepower. I think it was from 1977 til 1982. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

vandibber- I hear ya man! I'd drive any Vette, any year!

I love early late 60's and early 70's vette. Those are the best vette ever in my opinion. My uncle has 5 of them and a ZR1.

                              I wouldn't mine having one.
