The ban really did not accomplish anything as it was poorly written. Therefore the US will not be any more dangerous now than it was a week ago. You may however argue that we need a more stringent law that closes all the loopholes of the last one or that the whole idea is assinine and that people have the 'right' to own anything that they want.
What would be more interesting is a discussion of whether or not Americans deserve rights based on their inability to take responsibility for their own actions.
BTW, I would rather be shot at by a shotgun or a pistol at ranges of over 200 yards.
PS. Nobody owns any weapons that will put a 5.56mm AR15 variant to shame in it's intended role as an infantry weapon laying down a large zone of fire. Look up the trajectory of a 5.56mm as opposed to 7.62 and the reasons for why the 5.56 was selected.
Like everyone has told you it isn't worth renewing. It was a worthless ban.

you joke but I know if you have formal training it can be used against you in court cases in which you abuse someone or defend yourself. yea, like that movie with nicolas cage, he was an army ranger and got sent to jail for killing some guy that attacked him.

I can get a gun permit and carry a handgun, but I cannot carry nunchucks or even purchase a switchblade.

Why is everyone forgetting than in 94(and this remains true), according to the Federal Bureau of Justice Statistics, Less than 2 percent of all crimes were committed with "assault weapons"?
"Yes, let's legislate against a problem that doesn't exist!"
98 percent of all gun crimes are committed with hand guns. Lopsided?

I never got a chance to meet him but he was a 5th degree black belt in kung fu. Snap the guys neck and exploded his right knee.

Well.. would you rather try to sneak a AK around in your pocket or a 9mm glock ? Its simple logic.

Blldogg, making it fully auto is, I believe, a felony and of course a mandatory prison sentence.
The way people cheaply turn their weapons fully auto(which by the way can be done to any semiauto rifle or pistol) usually shoot a clip at a time.
military "automatic" weapons usually fire 2-3 shots at a time (m16 -3 shot burst i believe, l1a1 2 shot double action). These guns are only "assault weapons" mainly for the size of their clips. It is easy to reload a clip, and banning large ones does nothing to inhibit gun crime if someone is gonna do the crime.
