What the heck is going on in this town?

So we got back to school last night from spring break. My poor girlfriend is really bummed about being back at school. tonight we do our usual thing... after she works we go to walmart to get groceries for the week. this is around 5:00. Then we came back to my apartment to eat. We did our homework and went to the gym around 9:00. We got back around 11:00 and hung out at her apartment, which is right next door to mine. Since we always spend so much time together, we dont even have phones in her apartment. We come back into my place around 1:00. We had about 100 messages on all our phones. Apparently some gas station called the cops on us saying they saw a car matching her's description steal gas at some station. I dont even know what gas station, how much, or any details. All i know is if we dont pay by tomorrow morning theyre going to prosecute. I dont even know what station to go to. The only thing i can think of is that someone stole her plates. There are a few other silver eclipses' in town, but none have the same rims as her's. If they have a video i know i can bust apart their claims. Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day.

Wow.. how do you steal gas? She used somebody else's credit card or what?

And yeah, if they have a video, you can match it to the car and plates. If it doesn't show the driver's face, or the plates, they are screwed.

They better have video of either one of you two stealing the gas. If they don't slap them across the face and inform them you're going to sue for harassment. Yeah, that's it!

no, they said that she bought gas and just drove off.

harassment? hmmm... can you even do that. Right now im just keeping a cool head about it, im sure theres just some kind of mistake.

Naw, I doubt you can press harassment charges. It DOES suck that you have to deal with the problem though, but that willingness is the difference between a stand-up citizen and a slacker dip**** *******. Oh, did I say that out loud? :D

we tried to get ahold of the officer today, but he doesn't show up for work until 3 today, so we still know nothing.

ok, well like i said, kirksville sucks. we finally got in contact with these idiots. I dont even know how it got traced back to her, but the person theyre looking for has iowa plates, my girlfriend has missouri plates, and the plate number wasnt even close. Aparently someone needs glasses and shouldnt be running plates through the system. They came up with someone named Mary J, which isnt even close to my girlfriend's name. Their story was pretty hard to follow and im still really confused, which is why none of this doesnt really make any sense. All i know is weve been sitting here worried about this stuff for 12 hours and it had nothing to do with us. Oh, and the best part: My girlfriend drives an eclipse, but the car that stole the gas - it was a NEON... sexyness.

It's the same way around here. The cops are nothing but a bunch of brain-dead Barney Fife wannabes. If people around here need police assistance, they don't call the station. They just drive up to the local Huddle House 'cuz there's always cops in there.

And since you guys had to sit around worrying about it for 12 hours and you were innocent, go and file a lawsuit for emotional damages sustained from their harassment.
