Its like a 65mb video :eek: and last about 10 mins or so BUT WELL WORTH IT... [img]graemlins/popcorn.gif[/img]

A quick rundown of the video.
You start off as a organism and eat other cells and then lay eggs and evolve kinda like a tadpole to frog type thing.

You get to make the evolution anyway you want to.
Then fast forward and you get to build citys with the creatures you made. The game turns into like a RTS game.

you end up making all kinds of modifications to your colony.

Fast foward and you get a UFO and you can travel to other planets and try to make them livable. Then you can travel to other galaxies and search for other intelligence. You have black holes and dead stars all kinds of good stuff.

You can blow up whole planets and make a big mess it looks fun well worth watching.

you guys should check out Darwinia. Its so unlike any other game. It can be either really hard or really easy for the player, but if its really easy, you're only playing for completion.

Oh my Gosh. That Spore game is incredible! That's the coolest thing I've ever seen! I don't get out much, I always though Rise Of The Triad on PC was awesome haha.

I looked into it and here is what I found out.

Its planned to be released: Q3 2006

#1. What's the largest creature size?
Will Wright has indicated that elephant size will be the largest allowed.

#2. What's the smallest creature size?
Will Wright has indicated that hamster size will be the smallest allowed.

#3. When is the release date?
No one has said when exactly Spore will be released, but most people agree it will released in North America sometime in fall 06.

#4. What is this game about?
Spore is the ultimate sandbox game. You start as a microbe in a drop of water that swims around eating things and getting bigger. After you eat enough tings, you may evolve your creature by changing it's body structure, making it bigger, ect. When you're done evolving, you may build a city and eventually take over the universe.

#5. What kind of censoring will there be?
We don't know, but we hope it's good!

#6. What are the projected system specs?
We're not exactly sure, but here's a rough idea as seen on planetspore.co.uk.

Very small hard disk space (Since creatures, vehicles and building will be only 1KB each).

DirectX Supported Graphics card (Obviously, the better the graphics card, the better the game will play. New games are usually made so that graphics cards in the future will be able to play the game better than graphics card available when the game is released. i.e. when the game is released, the technology still has some catching up to do).

What all can you edit?
Your creature, Plants, Vehicles, Buildings, Planets.

#9. Will bionic arms and implants be allowed?

#10. Can you make aquatic races?
Yes. But you will have to make water dome if you ever wish to colonize the land or a mostly land planet.
You may also make air-dome cities for you land creatures that wish to go underwater.

#11. Can you make flying races?
Yes. Bu you will have to make sure that it's not too heavy to fly, else it will just glide.

#12. How does the multiplayer aspect work?
After you finish evolving your creature, it will be uploaded to the official spore site and sent out to other players. (Provided you have an internet connection of course.)

#13. What if my other computer dosen't have an internet connection?
You will not be able to upload/download creatures. Don't worry though! Will Wright said that the game will come with 1000s of pre-made creatures.

#14. Can my creature be a vegetarian?
Your creature can be carnivorous, herbivorious or omnivorious, depending on the kind of mouth and teeth you give it.

#15. Can my creature have fur, feathers, skin or scales?
Fur and feathers are confirmed. Other kinds are unconfirmed, but likely to be avaliable.

#16. What determines my species's personality?
The demonstration seemed to imply that the personality of the creatures was influenced by the various items given to them in the tribal phase such as spears and musical instruments.

#17. Will my creatures have religion?
Unconfirmed. But Will Wright seemed to imply that they would when he mentioned dropping staues of your creature on more primitive planets.

#18. Will there be weather?
Most likely. There was lightning and stuff in the video when they were demonstarting the terraforming device. Will Wright said that he'd like to put weather in if possible.
