yeah, that cops derserves to be in the bread line... thats like an ER doctor going, 'well you shouldn't have been Jay walking' and letting the guy die.
mod edit - had to remove all of the wildfalcon idiotness.
So... I'm closing this topic again for a few reasons:
1. We have a coward among us. I received an email with concerns as to the heavy moderation happening in this post and the moderators. Specifically how they do what we ask them. This was sent from an email address that is NOT in our system. NO, this is not "big brother" but when no one signs it or gives there name, screen name or anything, I feel this is just a plain coward act.
Let me first by responding to this in an open forum, and not in private email. After reading the article and the posts, though I didn't see the original unedited versions. I see that what the moderation team did was in the best interest of keeping the topic from getting way out of hand. This was a topic to stay on, people were otherwise ranting about their personal grievances with LEO's and not with this topic.
2. I read the article just like anyone else could and should have. I personally am a rider, tax payer and in general concerned for anyone's well being. This article about this SPECIFIC LEO had/has a personal problem and should without a doubt have a more serious punishment for what he did! Not only do our tax dollars pay for the 911 system, but so do our phone bills, cell bills and any other service that is connected to telephony. He is a public service employee that is PAID to serve the public, not turn a blind eye to them. Should this have been a mother with her children (or anyone of yours for that matter) you would have gone (excuse the term) ape ****. I don't care if the rider was doing wrong, someone did right by calling 911 to ask for help after the fact and this is what we pay for. Yes, the rider would have suffered his own punishment one way or another had he survived. But to tell a 911 caller "too bad" or "should you be playing games" is just unprofessional, period.
3. LEO bashing is not something I nor this board condone. Everyone has a problem with someone else in life. This board was not created for this purpose. Now I'm sure everyone is going to scream "what about my first amendment rights?". Let me just say, you signed up for this site, you logged in to this site, you CHOICE to be here. You agreed to the rules of the board. This board is here for like minded hobbyist to share a common community and share thoughts, experiences and life stories. Honestly, if you just want to bash things/people, there are sites just for that. Find them... please.
True story: I've had my own run ins with the law. Lost my license on more than one occasion, but I've never held it against any of them. Why? because I'm big enough to know that I was the one at fault and did something wrong. We have rules in society for a reason. I broke them, I should be punished. I've even found very nice LEO's out there. Recently in-fact! I was doing something I should not have been doing, I knew it and got pulled over for a simple tail light out. I put my trust in the officer and he in me. He cut me the break that he KNEW would have sent my life into a complete tail spin from which, I don't think I would have ever come out of. So... really, I'm thankful for the LEO's in my area for enforcing the laws when needed, but also having the compassion for seeing an honest mistake and giving a second chance. Which, I've taken VERY seriously and will NOT make the same mistake again. For him... I hope I get the chance to meet up and possibly ride with him! (yes, he's a rider)
So.. in closing of this little post (now that you've all made me sound and look like Stefan here, thanks) Have some common sense when posting. Are you really answering the post or commenting on an idea/issue or just pissing and moaning? I don't want to read pissing and moaning. I want to know opinions, I want to know more about people and hope, that our social community isn't going to hell in a hand bag.
Sincerely
Steve
