what do you think the prices and hp amouts will be for the next camaro?

im thinking:

base coupe: v6 245 hp around 20k maybe even 18k

z28: v8 330 hp around upper 20's like 25k-28k

ss: v8 400-450 hp around 30'k to 35k probably be around the same price as the gto

what do you guys think?

If they want to sell a lot of them, 25-40 age range. Also, the LS7 would be a pipedream. No way they'd stick the top of the line V8 and share it with the Corvette. Wouldn't happen.

We're probably looking at a LS2, beefed up a bit for the Z28, Ram Air and some other powermakers like exhaust/etc for the SS.

Well, IIRC, the old rumors were the Z28 was gonna get the 5.3L and have around 300-350HP.

You guys thinking they will put a 240HP V6 in are smoking crack. It'll probably be around 220HP, if they even make it more then 200HP.

The SS will probably get an LS2.

Base V6 with somewhere around 240-260hp at 20k give or take with options.

Z28 400hp (same as the goat) at around 30k depending on options.

No SS. Atleast not for the first run. They will want to see how sales are before flooding the market with too many options. Maybe SLP will make some, but I dont know how relations are between GM and SLP after they got in that fight about copy righting the name Judge.

There will be no mid 300hp model. Why would there be? It will be heavier than the vette and thats all GM has to do to make it "slower" than their flagship.

The new stangs only have 210HP, so why would GM go so much different on the camaros?

And I'm willing to bet the LS2 won't be in the Z28. First off, it has 400HP, so that will take away sales from the vette. Secondly, it leaves no room for an SS model. They certainly won't have the SS rated close to their flagship Z06 vette.

but at the same time, didnt the fbody tie for the most HP out of any NA v6 chevy and pontiac (and buick) made? (not sure on this one, but i dont recall a v6 with more than 200hp in 1995/1996)

what would be the alternative to the LS2?
they put the LT1 in the Vette, then the Camaro got it, LS1 in the Vette, then the Camaro got it.
