Side topic, but are Ninja 250's that bad to learn on? I know they're not the fastest, but they seem to hold their value pretty well for if I want to upgrade. I just got a Kawasaki card with a limit high enough to get something better, but being 19 with a part time job I don't want to dig myself too deep.

Nope, it's a good first bike from what I read. Best part is when you sell it later it'll retain a lot of its value like you stated.

Question about the 250 is going to be your size. If your really concerned about money... I can't stress a 500cc bike is really better than a 250 for us guys. I would put a girl learning on a 250 before a guy. They are naturally smaller. (no sexist comment ment here)

Agreed. Not only that, you will (I cant think of the word) "Outgrow it" in a matter of a month if that. One of my buddies bought one for his first bike. Didn't last too long, and pretty much just a waste of his money. If money is an issue, buy an older 500-600.

Is that a Rebel 250?? And yes, those are tiny. I still don't see how they can be legal on the freeways here... Oh.. and my boy just got his 05 Raven R1 delivered Saturday After he gets his break in time on it... I'm "borrowing it" for a ride. We're still scheduled for Deals Gap in July... should think about it.

It's a Kawasaki. I never checked to see what model it was, just thought it was funny how it fit her so well. She is too afraid to learn how to ride though :( .

Oh man, the R1 is insane... The CBR1000RR too. I went riding with both my buddies yesterday, and man, besides freezing my *** off, It took everything my bike had just to stick around with these guys. I refuse to ride these bikes even though they offered because Id rather not see what im missing out on. :(

One just got the Red R1 Saturday, and the other one just hit his break in point Sunday on his RR so he was reaaaaly smoking me.

Deals Gap... Fill me in on that again.

Deal's Gap
Tail of the Dragon

The first link sucks, but is the "offical" site... the second will show you some crazy stuff!

They Thunder Cat guys are going down the weekend of July 15,16,17. I think the R1 guys will be down there too.

318 turns in 11miles... think about doing that a few times in one day

Cool, I gotta stop by and check it out. Maybe if you can work some riding lessons in there I might get it... ;)

I took the online MSF cycle course tests and scored 89%... not bad for someone who hasn't ridden, only read up and was exposed to the culture while growing up, huh? :D A few questions were worded wierd, I woulda have scored higher if I read through the BS.

If you would like I will put the tore up fairing on it for you now and my bent headlight bracket for now till you learn it well and then put the real fairings on it when your ready. Its really easy to learn this bike compared to many others.

So you're willing to do some familiarization training with me? I've got the "theory of operations" down, along with knowing what it's like on a bike. I just gotta get some saddle time. What say you?
