Sounds great. I'll get the LP today or friday (most likely today), I also have to get some safety gear (helmet, gloves, possibly jacket), know any good places that aren't too expensive? I was looking at getting the Scorpian EXO-400 or 700 helmet, any local retailers?
Getting the LP is just taking the written test and paying the fee, right?

OK, test taken, fee paid and my off-duty time was wasted by the DMV at NO EXTRA CHARGE! But the LP is in hand, only missed one. I can't believe it was that easy, I shoulda done this a LONG time ago!
How does Saturday sound to you Blue? :D

Just be careful and don't get too cocky about it. Just enjoy the ride... and for god sake... keep it on 2 wheels

Usually I'd have to agree with you, but I take Motorcycling very seriously as I've been around it since I was a wee tike. Both wheels on the pavement, under the bike at all times for me thank you very much!
I'd ride with my pop and he'd explain all the different safety aspects of motorcycling to me, from situational awareness to accident avoidance. I still remember everything he taught me. Most of the reason I've not been in a vehicle accident is because I apply most rules of motorcycling to everyday driving.

Sounds good. In case the gear doesn't fit, are there any shops near you where I could pick up the gear I need? I measured my dome and the sizing chart said I needed a small sized helmet (WTF? First time anything said I had a small head... LOL) but I kinda doubt the chart is right. Eh, we'll cross that bridge when we get there, right?

Ya that will work. There are shops that have gear around here somewhere I'm sure.
