Hey all, I'm a new member. Used to own an '86 2.8L, so hopefully I can be of some help. However, I'm currently preaching the gospel of the turbo minivan, and turbo Dodge's in general. If anyone is interested there are tons of resources on the net, and it's very cheap and easy to make one semi-quick. Yeah, I know it's a frickin' minivan, but that makes it all the more hilarious when you smoke somebody. The crowd at the dragstrip loves it, ricers hate it with a passion. To me, it's the anti-rice. All function, no form. No unnecessary wings, neons, or appearance modifications, everything I've spent money on is under the hood.

Anyway, nice to meet you all, and if you have any questions I'll be happy to help you out if I can.

    Thanks,
    Josh

Are you going to make your own video where you smoke a Z28? :D

Nah, it's not that fast. Just fast enough to be fun, I'd call it "peppy." Though I think everybody in the world has seen that video.

A turbocharger in a minivan is like wiping before you poop... it just don't make sense.

          BUT

Slap an SRT Badge and a big wing on that bad boy and have every 16-21 year old "Enthusiast" drooling over it. :D

Haven't ever tried it, but I bet it would be fun in a small, light car. I got the mini because I had $1500 to spend on a car after the motor blew in my Camry, and my dad happened to be selling one at his work for $1500. So far, I've found they're easy to make faster, but not a great choice if you want to run with the big dogs. Which is fine, it makes a great conversation piece with car guys, and is still going strong with 150,000 miles on it.

Best 1/4 time so far is 15.02 @90.xx MPH. When it was stock, I used a G-Tech and got a 16.5 @ 89, obviously the MPH is off on the G-Tech but still a good improvement.

Mods are 3" exhaust from downpipe, side exits in front of the pass. side tire, 12" Dynomax bullet muffler, no cat. Intercooler from a Volvo, home-made intercooler piping from radiator hose and exhaust pipe. 2 cold start injectors from the junkyard, wired to a 15 psi pressure switch and mounted before the throttle body. Big Yellow Autozone Ricer cone air filter. Cause yellow = fast! :D And a manual boost controller, boost guage, and A/F meter. All that ran me around $400-500.
