Need Warranty Help Quick:

I'm never going to sleep again.. while I was sleeping, the dealer calls my dad and tells him "We're going to have to charge you $700 for these brakes.... these brakes are horrible and a major risk... "


Dude for that price I could get new rotors, pads, springs and paint calipers... it's such bull****... and they didn't even change rotors, just turned them and put in new pads.

So, where can I get warranty information? I think I can get out of it as long as I prove that brakes are covered in warranty.

pleeeeease help, gotta pick up the car today, and it'd be nice to have a reason to tell them to **** off.... and give me back my car.

Brakes are only covered under the warrenty for 12,000 miles.

They can't just charge you without your approval...I would say **** off and that new pads and turned rotors would cost less than $200. I have had it done at a tire place long ago and it was only $150. Why did you take it to a dealer anyway?

I own the car.. and my dad signed the waiver, it's under my name... so really, I think if I want to fight it I can, and will.

If your dad agreed to the repairs then the dealer is off the hook. Unfortunately.....

I took it to the dealer becuase I had some other warranty ****, I've had this fixed twice before for free, past 12,000 miles.

I'll pay for the pads, that's maintanance, but not for the rotors.

It doesn't say 12,000 miles, but read the maintenance section of that warranty book on page 10. It excludes wear items including brakes.

Edit: I didn't catch the rotors part. Interesting that they don't specifically exclude them.

go buy new rotors and pads for the front and then be like why the **** did you do my brakes ??????? least thats what my dad did

It's such bs.. no where in the warranty does it say only 12,000 miles.. I asked the dealership to present me a paper that says it, he says "that's just what GM tells us on the phone".. so I call GM, they say it doesn't... go back to the dealership, "it's a maintanance item"... so I asked "how many thousand miles are you supposed to change your rotors? If it's maintanance?"... and he just said "it's over 12,000 miles sir".... IT'S PISSING ME OFF! ahhhhh
