SERVER MOVE TODAY - COMPLETE

Please be advised, we are moving the files on FirebirdV6.com over to a newer, faster server today located on the same host. There will be some downtime for much of the site but this DOES NOT AFFECT THE MESSAGE BOARD. We have the two halves of our site (FV6 and CV6) on independent servers.

It will take a few hours but with some luck it'll all be complete tonight. A notice has also been placed on the FV6 main page, which should remain online through the transition (only subsections--mods, tech, etc. are affected). Thank you for your cooperation. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Well, the move was completed yesterday evening at 7:00-ish and encountered no major hiccups... though I'm now getting an Internet Explorer "Done, but with error on page" message on the main index.html site--which doesn't make any friggin sense; its the same darn file, just in a new location. (Anybody know what my IE6 is complaining about?)

Over the next few months we're also going to be automating some features soon to breathe life into some long-dormant sections of the site... reviews, timeslips, member-added media section, and more. The more we move away from HTML-based pages and toward a database-driven interface, the more direct control members can have over those sections of the site (Steve knows more about the new wizardry than I do). Its going to be cool. ;)

EDIT: Nevermind, the error message is gone. The problem was mysteriously fixed when I replaced the Firebird on the bottom logo with a bunch of snowmen. Hrrrm...

where does the money come from to host this site?...all sponsors? or is there spyware lurking around here!? hmm?
