When the SSR was introduced.....I read so many people were going to buy one.......they didn't ...it was a bomb.
When the Thunderbird was proposed and shown at Auto Shows the press and public said AH....wow.....and no one bought one...its been discontinued.
By the time this car shows up as a 12mpg super car, gas will be $3.50 a gallon and it will sit there as a car designed for another era. Look at SUV market, they can't give them away but lots of people were hot on them when they were shown at the auto show. What if they shrunk the Camaro by 20%, put a very high
output v-6 in it with a 6 speed that got 35mpg on highway and 25mpg in city. It would have a much better chance in the market and the insurance companies would not rape the driver for a years coverage. Look at the Infinity G-35 coupe as a possible
example for a sucessfull smaller sports car.

They should sell it as a limited production just like the GTO. Because hoping to buy a used one doesn't help GM, and it probably will flop being 4 years too late. It'd be risky for GM to produce it full bore.

And Palm, my insurance rates are considerably cheaper in the goat then a 350Z, and a G35, and an RX-8 so making it a 6 probably will not matter. And a high output v6 that gets good gas mileage is an oxy-moron for now.
