The local cops have a 2003 Mustang V6 cop car here, it has true dual exhaust too. It sounds good too, I love cops around here!
This is exactly right. I'm getting tired of all the police officer bashing on this board. If you had any idea what those officers face on a day to day basis you would shut the hell up. Those people are out there to enforce the law so they can earn a paycheck and feed their families. Maybe if all you children would just obey the traffic laws and quit driving like your head is on fire and your a$$ is catching you wouldn't have as confentations with the law.

Actually I have had very few run-ins with cops. But from my experience with them, they have caused me a lot of unnecessary trouble. I did get a ticket for doing 92 on the interstate, which I will gladly admit I deserved, but that was the only time that I have ever been justafiably pulled over. And you people talk about all the things that cops face.....maybe this is true where you live, but not around here. I'm from Alabama, and the only problem that cops face around here is deciding whether to spend their day at the Waffle House or the Huddle House.

unless alabama has a 0% crime rate, then those cops face all the dangers cops do in the big citys, mabye not as often, but cops get shot at all over the US, not just in the high crime areas.

About the only crime around here is someone getting their car broken into in a back alley, drunk drving, and let's not forget the occasional meth lab :D

I'm not saying all cops are the minions of satan or anything like that. I'm just saying that they're nowhere near the "supermen" that some of these guys make them out to be.

how do you know that none have been shot at, just b/c its not on the news doesnt mean anything. Plus meth labs are highly dangerous, even if there is no crazy meth heads there to fight, the environment is highly unstable and dangerous.

and Police are the "supermen" that people make them out to be, police and firefighters both put their lives on the line day in and day out to protect and serve you. Just b/c you havnt needed them, and they've gave you problems for breaking 'minor' laws, doesnt mean they arnt in a dangerous line of work.

I'll go along with you on the firefighters, but you are a police officer, so of course you're gonna say cops are wonderful. There's not really an unbiased opinion there. I don't have a problem with firefighters because they don't f*ck with people. It pisses me off when i get pulled over doing 48 in a 45 (the cop tried to tell me i was in a 35, and i proceeded to fly all over him and show him where the speed zone was) while the cops around here go through those same speed zones at 60 or 65 without their lights on, which means there is no reason for them to be driving that fast. If you wanna make it fair, let citizens write the cops tickets and harass them back. Most of the cops I know break more laws than I do anyway.

I do, however, donate money to the state troopers' association. Not because I want to support their harrassment, but it's kinda like a "payoff" to keep from getting tickets, because I haven't gotten one since I started giving them money :D

I'm not a cop yet, still working on it. Dad and grandfather is/was firefighters.

i'll agree that getting a ticket for 48 in a 45 is a bit extreme, but as for the cops driving fast, remember, on the majority of runs, only the 1st responding car uses lights, unless its a pursute.

I'm not saying there arnt cops that are on power trips or write tickets for things that other cops wouldnt usually write them for, but remember, traffic is just a small part of what these officers do during the day.

Nah, I didn't get a ticket over that one. It just made me furious that he was trying to convince me I was in a 35 zone. So either he was lying to me so he could have written me a ticket, or he had no clue where the spped zone was. And I know that's just a small part of what they do during the day, because at night they go around selling confiscated drugs back to the dealers

Cops are great people(sum of them) but when they get bored, they will pull you over for anything. Here's a list of what i have been pulled over for.
1)9mph over 64 55
2)improper stop twice, i supposedly wasnt stopped long enough
3)No front license plate big deal
4)modified exhaust. flowmaster cat back which is legal but in West Allis, you're not allowed to modify you exhaust at all.
5)loud music at 8:30pm at night, STOCK SYSTEM!!!!
i get pulled over for the sumbest stuff. o well.
