Disclaimer: In this thread I am going to discuss AVP, and the ending will probably be laid out or summarized in some form or another. If you haven't seen the movie and you don't want to ruin the suspense, stop reading.....NOW.

That was the coolest movie I have ever seen. I am gonna have nightmares for a month. The Aliens scare me so much.

I loved the scene where the italian guy outlined the past of humanity; how the predators used to be our gods, and they showed us how to be civilized in exchange for a place to play games.
I have always believed in that theory. It makes perfect sense considering the complexity of ancient temples and pyramids, and humanities lack of technology. I feel as though our own history lends itself to such a past. I am glad I am not the only one who thought that.

On the downside, it seemed to piggyback off of starcraft. I am a starcraft fanatic. The old predator movies made predators look like heartless killing machines. The new predators very closely mimic the Protoss Zealot. They have the same dreadlocks; their masks looked like protoss faces; and they even had the blades that extend from thier forearms. Thier ship looked just like a protoss carrier. It had the huge foreward swept sails underneath the hull, and the cinematography between the two ships was very similar, both from underneath primarily. The predators also seemed cool and calculated, but concentrated, which is a new mentality for the predator.

Of course the aliens are just like the zerg. I think the starcraft creators got the idea for the zerg from the aliens movies.

Finally, the humans, were just stuck in the middle of a huge war between the two, just like in starcraft.

I give the movie an A+++++ and I will go see it again soon. Now I am going to lie awake in bead all night, freaking out at every small noise I hear. I think I am once again afraid of the dark.

for the rest of us... that movie was horrible. wait and rent it.

i swear to god, in a couple scenes it looked like the human and the predator were gonna kiss. good effects in all but horrible movie.

I couldn't really enjoy the effects. My night vision is still crap from my laser surgery, and the whole movie is really dark.

I didn't like how they killed the queen in the end either. It was pretty weak. They just sent her to the bottom of the ocean. If I were the queen, I would have knawed my arm off before I sunk with that giant anchor.

Personally i enjoyed it 110%. It was everything i expected A++++++++++++++++++++ [img]graemlins/rock.gif[/img]
