• LS1 Swap progress..

    None really as of yet..

I wanted to do a few things before I got this project rolling. For anyone who doesn't know, I'm putting an LS1 into my 94.

I failed emissions a couple months ago,,so before I could start this, I wanted to pass while I still had a chance. I tweaked a few things and ended up passing on my second try by .001 hydrocarbon. With that under my belt, I decided to give the 3.4 another chance at the track. lol...I took the car back to the track last Friday. I consistantly ran slow 16.4's trapping around 82-83 MPH. I won't be missing the engine / ETAs after this project.. :D

I also paid insurance recently, so with those three things set, I'm ready to go. I will officially be starting this any day now..I sent my PCM to get reprogrammed, so when I get it back, it's go time. As I mentioned before, my entire car will be getting a 'make-over.' Pretty much the only things that will remain the same are the seats. I'm really looking forward to this

I'm doing an lt1 into a '99 which just might be the most difficult of all. Good luck.

Why the hell would you do that? Why not put an LS1 in. Same year to same year is A LOT easier than what I'm doing..

My PCM should be coming back to me reprogrammed any day now. I'm really excited about getting this thing in. I've spent quite a few on parts so far. Everyones response is always "why didn't you just buy a new car?" I know that this is still cheaper than buying a 99+ LS1 Camaro...

I've heard them both, and I've compared the price of aftermarket parts in case I decide to go all out, and the lt1 is simply my engine of choice. I understand the extra work, but unless I run into a really cheap '99 Ls1, then the lt1 goes in.
