on DVD. in the extras section, there is something called the "smoking fry", where they do a little experiment on some burgers and fries.

    Indredients used

    mcdonalds fries
    filet o fish
    1/4 pounder
    big mac
    homemade burger
    restaraunt fries
    =================

the experiment was to put each item in a glass jar and watch them decompose on their own. the mcdonalds burgers were toast after about 3 weeks. the filet o fish looked like it had melted and was covered in a thin carpet. the big mac was covered in white sh*t. the real fries were black. the mcdonalds fries looked brand new.

after 10 weeks all the food items were OMG so nasty i cant even explain. but the fries were perfect. so nasty, eww im never eating mcdonalds again. i never really did anyways.

That movie is pumps full of so many slanted views.

The guy went from being vegan, to a 100% McDonalds diet. OF course he's gonna get sick. It would be the same thing if some fat guy 200lbs overweight started running 10 miles everyday and has a heart attack.

If they took your average american, I'd bet money the results would be a lot different.

he wasnt a vegan, his girlfriend just made him eat some of her healthy stuff before he went on his suicidal mcdonalds diet. he was just a normal guy. you notice at the end that his girlfriend tries again to help him loose weight by putting him back on some super healthy vegan thing, and he cant even stick with it. if you took your average american and made them eat **** for a month, they'd feel ****ty.

if you eat a lot of ****donalds, you need to watch this movie. http://supersizeme.com/home.aspx?page=movietrailer

          </font>[/QUOTE]I've seen the movie.

Still, he was NOT your average american. He still ate healthy, he even says in the video he hardly ate fast food at all. He went from exercising a lot, to not exercizing at all. he also went from eating heathly to not eating healthy.

I used to eat fast food twice a day for a year and I never remotely feel like he did, and I was not remotely close to dying.

When you change your diet drastically, you body is going to react to that change violently. I went from eating junk to eating nothing but fruits and vegitables for a week, and I about died. My body started to detox itself, and I got massive headaches, to the point where I couldnt even concentrate on anything. Some of the worst headaches of my life. I have since decided to slowly phase out junk foods because I felt down right miserable.

IF they took an average american, who eats fast food regularly, and doesnt excersize, the results would be MUCH different.

he was trying to emulate the lifestyle of an average american. he didnt exersize, and walked the minimal amounts of steps per day. you may say that nobody eats that crap three times a day so it is irrelevant. but some people eat fast food daily or even more than once a day.

also, i never really noticed how much mcdonalds really does market to children. its kind of ****ed up when a bunch of first graders are shown pictures of george washington, abe lincoln, george bush, jesus, and ronald mcdonald, and the only one they all knew was ronald mcdonald. THEY COULDNT RECOGNIZE A PICTURE OF JESUS, but the picture of ronald mcdonald instantly lit up their faces.

does anybody here know what jesus really looked like?

the girl in the office next to me eats mcdonald's twice a day (breakfast and lunch) and is getting fatter every day. her explanation: my thyroid is messed up. i guess it takes her through the driveway every day?

camaro_speedemon, i think you two are arguing toward the same end. i understand your point about changing your diet overnight, but don't you agree that eating fruits and vegetables is, in concept, healthier than eating MSG and grade C beef? in my mind if you get used to feeling "bad" (like i do after i eat fast food and i would say i eat it 2-3 times a week), then it won't feel "bad" anymore and you can't be qualified to speak on what "bad" health is. i'm sure a day without a headache is great to someone who's suffered tons of concussions, and a day without vomiting is great to somebody on chemotherapy.

              truth is relative to experience.

i think you are arguing that the movie tends toward overreaction because there was a somewhat rapid change in diet, not that premise (fast food is not good for you) is false.
