hey guys. i figured i'd post this here because i thought i wont get flamed that much. but yea my car is a 5 speed and i was wondering if anyone had any tips before i go out and burn out my clutch in 5 minutes. :( :mad:

and for those few that did try and help me figure out whats wrong with my clutch no i didnt fix it yet. my brothers friend had a 1997 civic :( [img]graemlins/barf.gif[/img] but its a stick. and rather kill my clutch i gave him a grand for it. the car has 160,000 miles on it but he replaced the clutch for the 4th time ( i think ) at 120,000 miles so the clutch is fine. i was wonna learn soon so i dont kill my clutch

My camaro was the first stick shift car I ever drove. I found that the thing I did wrong the most was take my foot off the clutch when it "felt like" it caught. Slow off the clutch and you'll be fine, and you don't have to rev the hell out of it to get started.

99.9% of people's problems on a manual car right there. It was mine too. Smoothly and slowly ease off the clutch, even after if starts to catch.

Just reve the motor up to 3500, then slowly let the clutch out.
After a few days or even a few tries you will have the feel for it.
