Read that article from 1960's. 83% of the Vietnamese voted.

There will be no change in the insurgency before or after the vote.

They didnt magically disappear after the voting. The danger is still there, nothing has changed. And the war goes on.

Voting did nothing, it might actually complicate issues.

i don't understand how anyone can argue that iraq was a mistake now...the people have spoken...we have proof now...feedback from the IRAQIS that they want change.
