I don't think the mods should HAVE to post a short reason on why the thread is locked, but if they don't maybe they can shoot an email to the topic starter on why it got canned? Just an idea. I don't think the mods have to explain themselves to everyone on this board, but a heads-up to the topic starter on why it was locked would be a good idea so when they start a new one, they can act like a "mini-mod"? You know, control the craziness a bit to try to help the mods out?

OR instead of taking the trouble of looking up emails and writing an email they could post 5 words and select "post and lock" and go on w/ their day instead fo getting involved in a protracted email ***** fest.

It's funny that this topic comes up a couple times a year, but yet no one really understands why threads get locked.

People would have to understand the email is a one-way conversation and not subject to debate. Maybe an e-mail account that can send but not recieve should be used? Not all info (like why a topic was locked) should be made public. ;)

I don’t think a mod should have to explain himself, but at least post an empty post as an acknowledgement so members may know who to contact. the topic and/or discussion should be a good enough reason but in all farness to some posts like the Ferrari one, a short explanation would have been fair considering it wasn’t anything like politics, NWS material, or 159 post discussion with 4 members throwing insults around.

But, I'm going to refer back the rules that say if you have a problem with the decision, email the mod instead of making a new post that you know will turn into a bickering thread about the moderators and Administrators.

I don’t want to be rude and I have nothing against you and I don’t know the/your situation but maybe there is a reason why you are not a mod anymore and members are constantly mentioning you be suspended and banned in the past
