  • Why arent these cars in America?

Wondering why certain cars that are basically all over the world except the U.S.
    Cars such as

    Skoda
    Peugeot
    Renault
    Citreon

Why wont these European countries such as France and Slovakia import them here?

peugeot's use to be imported back in the 80's I think

and is it me or are all most all of those cars popular rally cars? rallys are not very big in america. I guess that could be a reason.

I'm gonna guess they dont meet some sort of requirement, be it emissions or safety (like how the lotus elise wasnt sold in the US due to "non sealed headlights")

not sure, but tahts what i'd guess.

and when it comes to manufacturers points they are always at the bottom. even the ford focus has started to ease them out in the last 2 years in the WRC. Subaru has been able to take advantage of its AWD system and promote the feck out of it which seems to have really sold the WRX. as for the Evo, Mitsubishi didn't release it until it saw the sales record of the Subaru WRX shoot through the roof when it came out a few years ago.

and that could be true too. Europe standards seems to be hard on gasoline cars and prefer diesels, where America standards prefers gasoline cars and doesn’t prefer diesels

honestly, do you think puegot would sell in the states? half of the people here probably couldnt pronounce it. i know they are famous for rally racing but it is not popular at all in america. is the Xara rally car puegot? (trying to remember gt3)

also whats the deal with HP, almost every rally car ive seen has 290-295 HP, excluding a few. it is like japan where they made the joint deal to fudge the HP numbers and stuff?

the elise actually wouldnt meet emissions either. thats why the new one sold in america has the toyota 1.8 l engine. its the same engine in the celica. but lot changed some little things in it.

Isn't the pronunciation something like "pew-go" or something? I have no clue.
